Neil Young - Silver & Gold

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter

The Fat Cats - 9-17-99 (?) Horseshoe Tavern (double bill w/ BNB - what a night, what a show!)

The New Deal - Gone Gone Gone - I think this is the 3rd 5-disc call in a row I've chosen this; well, I'm still listening to it! Love it!

Michael Jackson - Off The Wall

[big Grin][big Grin][big Grin][big Grin]

I've been wanting to listen to MMW for a while now but have been holding off, waiting for the Toronto and Montreal shows to come in from Jay's generous b&p. Should be here anytime now, can't wait!

[big Grin]

Horace Silver is a legendary hard-bop jazz pianist.

Television is one of my favourite bands and are one of the more influential bands from the 1970's CBGB's music scene ( along with Patti Smith, The Ramones, Talking Heads and Blondie ). They are by far the least known.

If punk had a jamband, then that band was Television. One of the greatest rock albums I've EVER heard is Television's debut, Marquee Moon. The title song, Marquee Moon, is a masterpiece and may be my favourite jam song of all time.

The great thing about Television is that they love to play. All 3 of their studio albums are great and are must owns ( buy the Marquee Moon and Adventure reissues ). Their great live album, The Blow Up, sizzles, but the sound quality is poor - it's still a must own; the playing is brilliant.

Check out what All Music Guide says about Television. They are bang-on with their assessment of Television ( you'll find good reviews and a bio of Horace Silver too on AMG ):

I just discovered "Marquee Moon" over the last six months or so and it's been getting quite the play at my place. It's real, real good!

Interesting stuff.

nero- "Soon"

Sublime- "Sublime"

Broken Social Scene- the new one

Bruce Springsteen- "Nebraska"

Remy Shand- new cd

And for the love of god, I was always one to say that Dave was alright and check out the shows. That there was something fun there. But my god, that new cd is freakin horrible. Even Trey couldn't save the day. It makes me want to die (and I am generally I very happy person).
