Nigel Dawes and Dustin Boyd have signed with the KHL.

Their numbers were unreal in the AHL this year, and they basically dragged the Bulldogs into the playoffs, and then into Game 7 of the third round, however that was the extent of their usefulness to the organization. At best they provided the Habs with a 13th forward who may occasionally play 9 minutes per game.

They join Habs prospect Brock Trotter who has another year left in his KHL contract. If he had stayed in the AHL, it might have been him in the Habs line-up, and not Ryan White or David Desharnais. 'Dems the breaks.

Mike Cammalleri is doing some sort of photoshoot for ESPN magazine. They asked him to take slapshots at the camera, which he did. Thankfully the camera was shielded by a piece of plexiglass....

Habs D prospect Kyle Klubertanz has signed a two year deal in the Sweedish Elite League. He was the Bulldogs top scoring defenceman this past year, but probably too low in the depth chart to have a real shot at the NHL.

This is becoming a worrying trend for RFA prospects, with Dawes, Boyd, Trotter, Degon, Simila, Ramo, and now Klubertanz opting to sign in Europe over playing in the AHL.

Although if it was me there would be no question that living in Europe is better than living in Hamilton.

Apparently Brock Trotter is on his way back from Europe having signed a one year deal with the Habs. He will probably be a brink player this year along with Aaron Palushaj as the first call-ups if forwards are required.

He was pretty cheesed that the Habs did't let him out of his contract to go be an assistant coach with New Jersey when Mclean took over as head coach. It was at that point he told the Habs he would not stay in Montreal if offered another contract.
