Northern Wish
Picked this up this weekend and am very pleasantly surprised.Obviously the Neil/Sadies "This Wheels on Fire" kicks almost too much ass that the rest of the album could be totally forgotten, but I really really liked Kevin Hearn doing "You Ain't Goin Nowhere", The Sadies version of "The Shape I'm In" is a very cool version- and finally the Blue Rodeo/ Cockburn "Sleeping" is a great version of a commonly passed over song. Its not all good though as Chantal and Raine don't do anything any justice and Peter Katz treatment of Acadian Driftwood is subpar IMO. The snare intro goes on for far too many meaures.....Totally worth the investment, although the packaging is kind of weird. The track list on the rear does not list the artist, so you need the liner notes open to check who it is.
zero
If the packaging is weird I guaranfuckingtee it was done by his wife Maud. She is painful to be around (Sadies would agree), but as Kevin Breit wisely pointed out to me at one point 'if it weren't for Maud, Garth wouldn't get out of bed in the morning'.
