Green Growth or No Growth Debate, Ottawa

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone is interested in this...there will also be a live webcast (or on CBC Ideas Feb 2nd) if you don't live in Ottawa.

Green Growth or No Growth. Charting a sustainable economic future

We face serious environmental and economic challenges. People are looking for answers in a green economic future.

Can the Earth support an ever-growing economy? Can we shift to ‘green growth’ for a healthier environment and economy? What would it look like?

Four of the world’s top economic experts debate one of the critical questions of our time. CBC Radio's Paul Kennedy, host of Ideas, moderates a live debate at the University of Ottawa.

The debate will take place Thursday, January 20th, 2011 at 7:00 pm on the University of Ottawa campus (12102 Desmarais). CBC Radio One will broadcast the debate on Ideas, February 2, 2011.

Link to live webcast will be available here www.sustainableprosperity.ca/debate Thursday, January 20th from 6:30 pm on.

edit to add: you need to register....if it is full, and you want to go, let me know.

edit to add: Protesters welcome ;) we always get a few deniers...but registration is full.

You're assuming registration space is fixed. As a society, we need to find ways to increase registration space, not just assume that there are arbitrary fixed limits on how many people can be registered, and so exclude everyone else from it.
