Nathan Moore...alias: 'Percy Boyd'; wonder-kid singer-songwriter/hobo-poet from Staunton, VA; winner of the 2008 Telluride Troubadour Award

Brad Barr, Marc Friedman, Andrew Barr...alias: 'The Slip'; kaleidoscopic avant-rock trio; Rolling Stone Dec. 2006 Artist to Watch

Marco Benevento...alias: 'Johnny Largo'; virtuosic keyboard improviser / composer / visionary; founding member of The Duo; says David Fricke of Rolling Stone, "(Marco) hammers his keyboards like John Bonham and writes like a guitarist."

Surprise Me Mr. Davis is an electro-roots pop band consisting of folk singer Nathan Moore, the members of avant-rock band The Slip: Brad Barr, Marc Friedman and Andrew Barr; and the newest member, dazzling post rock pianist Marco Benevento.

The band formed in 2003 in Boston while Moore was visiting The Slip at their apartment when the Blizzard of 2003 hit. They were snowed in at the Barr brothers Mission Hill home for five days with a brand new stereo microphone and computer. Songs were written, plans were made and Surprise Me Mr. Davis was born.

Touring sparsely over the first six years of their existence, Surprise Me Mr. Davis has decided that 2011 will be the year the band becomes a number one priority. A new studio album That Man Eats Morning for Breakfast soon to be released!

Following the 'fashionably late' path that their entire career seems to have taken thus far- they've already missed out on half of this their self proclaimed "priority year" while Nathan u-streams his life and The Barrs bring the half dead Slip back to life just as their hot as shit solo project finally gets some attention.

they are putting out a new album (eventually) will they tour behind it? probably very minimally. i do agree they should just stick with 1 band, at this point the barr brothers as it's actually getting the best/most buzz, but you know the barrs, they don't do what's safe, they just do what they wanna do...
