Tuesday's at Irene's

Recommended Posts

Sold off my family to the jackals, bought a boat to float the flood

I'm an island in a river of burning bodies, sh!t and blood

Abnormalities and sickness, disgusting and perverse

And the sinking feeling things are only going to get worse

I lie to myself, it helps to keep me entertained

I don't care, it doesn't matter

I made it through this judgement day

Aloha,

Brad

I hereby give Bradm a standing ovation for coming to almost every gig we played, and for taping most of them taboot. Every week he'd hand me a copy of the previous week's show and usually even another show that he had taped that week.

I haven't listened to them all, but they are excellent learning tools and when I can't get together with Doug I use the cd's Bradm gave me to practise along with.

Cheers to you Bradm, thanks for all you do. Clap clap clap (I'm standing up).

Also thanks to lots of y'all out there for coming out and supporting us, some of you were even kind enough to come several times. Thanks all, you helped us play better and you helped the bar like us more.

Tonight was tons of fun, I think the best we've done overall. We have our fingers crossed that Steve Marriner will get busy and have to go back out on the road so we can take his spot again.

Monkeyjunk just got nominated for a Juno today, so hopefully they'll win and go on an endless tour!

You and Doug are very welcome, I had a great time seeing you play, and recording it. And the recordings were easy to make: all I had to do to make a great-sounding tape was bring a tiny amount of gear, plug the recorder into the soundboard (there was even a patch cable already hooked up to it), press the button and sit back and enjoy seeing and hearing you play.

Velvet says:

Doug and I will be playing tomorrow night at Irene's (Tuesday, April 24th), starting around 9:30. This is a one-off; we'll be there tomorrow night and then not again until who knows when?

If you're a hockey person the only game happening tomorrow is Fla vs NJ, and it should be pretty much done by the time we start.

In other (not unrelated) news, Heather and I embark on an African adventure soon. We leave for Namibia at the end of next week for a month - we'll be back in June. Tuesday will be a good opportunity to give us a hug and wish us luck, you can even buy Heather a beer or two!

Anyways, hope to see some of you at the bar. If we don't see you Tuesday we look farward to crossing paths this summer!!!!
