Northern Wish
They played a gig at the famous Cafe Wha? yesterday in NYC. By the looks of my twitter feed you had to be a celebrity of some sort to get inside.http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/sns-bc-us--music-vanhalen,0,2698965.story
Esau.
Heard about this last week and laughed my ass off. I bet they don't make it half-way through that tour.

Velvet
Omigawdomigawdomigawdgolly, I'm so excited! Van-mother-fuckin'-guitar-wailin'-Halen! Now to decide whether to see them in Ottawa or Montreal. Heard about this last week and laughed my ass off. I bet they don't make it half-way through that tour. I've heard a few people say this and I wonder why. They toured a few years ago with the same lineup and I think everything went okay. It's not as if they can't afford four tour buses! Anyway, I saw them in Montreal last time and it was pretty great, though there is a fair amount of canned music; 2nd guitar parts, keys and I'm pretty sure Michael Anthony's backup vocals are canned as well. Woooooo!
Kanada Kev
Michael Anthony's vocals have GOT to be canned since he's not in the band I'd like to hit the Toronto gig but I ain't laying down big coin for a ticket. St. Patrick's Day with Van Halen ... could be trouble Here's the setlist from last night's club gig:

Freak By Night
I've got $10 that says the DO make it half-way through the tour. I hope the opening band is Chickenfoot.
Velvet
Kool & The Gand will be opening in Ottawa.
Freak By Night
Kool & The Gang seals it for me.In my opinion, Michael Anthony is the finest harmony vocalist in hard rock. He's dismissal from VH boggles my mind.

bouche
Why on earth is Kool & the Gang opening for Van Halen???Worst musical pairing ever. #FAIL
bouche
I tossed out this theory at work and it seems to be getting alot of support.I think the goal is just to get the crowd so unrocked that when David Lee Roth hits the stage, the crowd would go apeshit for anyone. Davey Boy 2.0
I think they're the only touring band that'll eat the leftover brown M&Ms
Velvet
Why on earth is Kool & the Gang opening for Van Halen???Worst musical pairing ever. #FAILVan Halen is notorius for booking opening acts that the average VH fan would have no interest in. The supposition is that this ensures they will not be upstaged.Last time I saw VH one of Bob Marley's kids opened.

bouche
I didn't know that they were notorious for that. How about having some confidence? It's incredible that this is being billed as a reunion after a failed reunion in 2007/
The Chameleon
I saw thhe Toronto show a frew years back and it was killer.I was ready to hate on Eddie`s kid (Wolfgang) taking Micheal Anthony`s place but he turned out to be awesome at 17! He was hitting all the harmony notes, they were not canned at all. This time they are coming with a new album that I head is amazing.Hold on to your hats, Van Halen still got it. Tungsten Gruvsten
Don't think I can make it to the VH party but sure wish I could! Here's some fuel for the fire: I'm The One - Isolated Guitar track

DevO
How can I get me some cheap tickets for the show at the ACC? What can I expect to pay ya think if I were to just show up down at the ACC before the show? Looks like fun.
NewRider
In my experience if you just wait out a song or two you can get a ticket for $20. Saw CSNY twice, Rolling Stones, U2 all like that.
