No, shh—it's true. Millions of orange shells await. The Doritos Locos Tacos, already available at a few experimental Taco Bell locations—the Los Alamos of shockingly cheap Mexican food—will roll out worldwide. And then, it'll be too late to resist, you stupid gourmand. You think you're too good for Taco Bell, maybe? Hah, no, friend. That's not how it works... But if you're going to be difficult about it and turn up your nose, try this on for size (like an enormous taco): the company has already mass produced 85 million Doritos taco shells ready. That's enough for every single person in Germany to receive one. And then another four million left over. So shut up and eat your tacos, which are so Locos that they require a specially-designed holster to prevent Doritos dust from getting on your skin and overwhelming your entire central nervous system. fluffhead77
I, for one, welcome our new artery clogging overlords.
jaybone
I thought that I would never eat an unhealthier meal then the time fluffhead77 and I had a double down with a burrito supreme chaser.I think the bar has been raised. TheSloth
In! I actually had a stare down with a Taco Bell yesterday at the mall but I backed away and got sushi, the dorito shell would have pushed me over the edge. Also, I was super disappointed I couldn't get a bag of taco flavoured doritos last night and had to settle for spicy nacho. Im praying the taco flavour wasn't for a limited time.
Davey Boy 2.0
yeah the bouquet of taco flavoured doritos–while similar to nacho flavour–has more of a fruity (plum?) street vendor nose Edited February 24, 2012 by Guest hints of cumin
fluffhead77
I asked them on their FB acct about availability here, but no solid answer. Gave me the run around.
ollie
I found taco flavoured doritos at the Hampton Park Food Basics last week. Are they really in short supply? Edited February 29, 2012 by Guest
TheSloth
Unsure but my local grocery store is still out of them (checked again last night) but I haven't bothered to inquire if there's more coming. It's almost a good thing if they're discontinued because I was buying them all the time.
ollie
Yeah they are pretty great aren't they? I never, ever buy Doritos but this thread inspired me to and I thank you all for that.
SaggyBalls
"why is this not the regular flavour instead of Nacho Cheese" rolls through my head with every chip I eat.
c-towns
The Taco Bell Taco Supreme Doritos from he mid 90's are still my favorite Doritos of all time, they came out at the same time as the Pizza Hut Doritos but were both fairly short lived. I can't find a picture of the bag anywhere, I will have to find these Taco Doritos and see if they compare.
c-towns
Had the Taco flavour last night, huge MEH is in order, I would rather have almost any other flavour of Doritos than these.
fluffhead77
Forgot to mention that we stopped and had some of the Locos Tacos on the way back from Wisconsin - not bad. Better than I originally thought it would be. Pretty salty, but no where near as salty as the double down. I might stare one down again if the opportunity arose again.
