Twink

i know eh :content:

she has cancelled several shows because of a severe form of joint inflammation called synovitis she has been trying to live with for a while now. all that dancing seems to have just gotten the better of her and her doctors told her to take a few days off.

regardless of what all you greasy hippies think, she actually puts on a very entertaining show.

I saw her in Montreal last (?) year because my niece begged me to go with her. I didn't want to go but a few folks around here said that she was good. She is a good singer...especially solo.

Her opening band was awful, the worse live show I have ever seen...once they got off the stage, for the next two (plus) hours, they slowly turned off the big screens that were displaying some promotional stuff, then the background music was lowered until it was silent, then they turned on the lights so they were super bright. So For the next 1.5 hours people just sat/stood there in silence waiting.

When she did come out, she was overtly sexual (but I guess that is her thing?) and she had a video of herself on the big screens of her eating raw (cow?) hearts with blood all over her face. There were children crying all around me and the horrified looks on the their parents faces almost made me laugh, but it was sad.

It was a terrible experience for me, I didn't really get it, she kept saying that she hated money and what money represented...but her tickets were super expensive and her stage set up was over the top.

She can sing, yeah. But if you do get a chance to go, you might want to show up a few hours late and bring ear plugs, loads of crying children can take away from the experience.

That sucks phistaper. We were lucky to catch the last show of the tour in Montreal. I was surprised to read the next morning that she was injured.

I thought it was a great show, pretty much as phishtaper describes it above. The concert was only delayed about 30 minutes from the announced time so not too bad.

Saw a few kids in the crowd but none of them were crying. Pretty tame audience overall, maybe because it was a Monday.
