Rob Not Bob 7 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Sweet lineup. Does anybody know for how long the Early Bird pricing usually lasts?
Big Wooly Mammoth 3 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 i'll be in town this year, but won't be getting a pass. there are, maybe, five acts i'd like to see.that is, IMO at least, the weakest bluesfest lineup that i've seen. i'm gonna go get my jazzfest pass now. fluffhead77 16 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Your list Rob is pretty much exactly what I'd like to see too. Overall the headliners aren't my thing, but 18 solid bands there. Not awful.
ollie 13 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Agreed that this looks like the weakest overall lineup to date but it's still worth getting a pass for me. $199 over 10 days is still only $20 a day. Pretty sure I can find at least one act on each day I'd pay that much to see and some I'd have to pay a lot more.
Northern Wish 63 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 This is a pretty disappointing lineup. Too bad I thought this was going to be a big year.At least they didn't retread The Hip, Blue Rodeo or Metric.

ollie 13 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Anyone know how the 3 day passes work? Do you have to pick your dates at the time of purchase? Do they offer any flexibility beyond that? Thanks.
Esau. 269 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Since I won't be attending I suppose it's pointless to make this. But if I was going make the journey, I guess this would be who I wouldn't want to miss. I imagine there are a couple others I'm missing or not familiar with I'd be interested in, but for sure these.Drive-By TruckersElvin BishopShovels & RopeViolent FemmesJohn MayallJeff TweedyGary Clark Jr.Black Joe LewisSugar Ray & The Bluetones

I'd go at least 5 days.
TheSloth 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) The only reason I'm not massively disappointed is the fact that Bluesfest can no longer disappoint me, I just don't expect them to hit a bunch of home runs anymore. That said, there's more than enough potential for a great 5 day pass or if the stars align and most of the shit I want to see falls on 3 days then even better. Still, the headliners are pretty weak with no big wow booking and there's a lot good acts that are touring that didn't get booked.edit: I'm pretty happy about the Violent Femmes booking, they put on a great show Edited March 26, 2014 by Guest mitigated spite

Cosmic ChrisC 5 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 That said, there's more than enough potential for a great 5 day pass or if the stars align and most of the shit I want to see falls on 3 days then even better. There is no 5-day pass option this year. Was there last year? I think there was.My co-worker was excited when she was me this morning. Couldn't wait to tell me she's getting the full pass this year...she's a country music fan and there are big country acts this year, according to her. TheSloth 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Freaker's wish list is basically the Osheaga lineup. I love Osheaga but I don't think that lineup is saturated enough to justify the cost (not a massive knock, it's just a pricey pass buuuuuut that's the free market and they sell plenty of passes) and again, there's enough talent that if it lines up it could make for a great day. Just my opinion, but they've had stronger lineups. A little top light like bluesfest but at least they booked a broad spectrum of interesting acts and no matter what Osheage is a slick weekend. For ROI i think TURF is pretty solid at this point. Cosmic ChrisC 5 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 Freaker's wish list is basically the Osheaga lineup. I know. But I don't feel like going to Osheaga. I did go to Osheaga's first year though and loved it.
Esau. 269 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 edit: I'm pretty happy about the Violent Femmes booking, they put on a great showAgreed. I was pleasantly surprised to see some tour dates. Violent Femmes might be enough to drag me to Toronto for the TURF fest. (and DBT of course)
