Davey Boy 2.0 Posted September 19, 2014 Report Share Posted September 19, 2014 Ottawa - In what is described as a first, Westboro councillors have voted unanimously to give each household in the district a free iPhone with which to pay property tax bills, find favourite businesses, prime parking places and order beverages and meals from their favourite local businesses. "We felt it necessary to address a disparity for Westborons who have experienced bullying and harassment in the growing number of establishments that cater only to the smartphone crowd. Stories of teens being openly mocked for having older versions of the iPhone mobilised our councillors, who worked through their lunch hour last Monday to find a way to make this happen. We feel confident that not only will this alleviate mental and emotional stress for those most vulnerable to this harassment, it will also strengthen social bonds and promote community spirit" said one spokesperson. Immediate impacts of this community building were shown by way of a trending topic on Twitter. Councillors were able to buy up the entire first shipment of the iPhone 6 for the national capital region, delaying the launch for the general public by a week.
