A sad loss for the local music community. I haven't set foot in the place in over 10 years, but it was my regular haunt in the early to mid 1990s. Plus

they brought moe. to town just over 20 years ago.

The best concert of my life was Black Mountain at Zaphod's , last year. First gig I ever played was opening for Lost Prophets at Zaphod's . This makes my heart hurt.

Best show I ever saw there by far was performed by this Danish band, Under Byen. There were perhaps 10-15 people and they crushed the joint. I'll always remember Zaphods for that show alone.

Embarrassed to admit that I saw Nickelback there. But that was before it was cool to hate them.

Other memorable shows for me at Zaphods include Monster Magnet and I Mother Earth.

Actually, a Bob Wiseman show at Zaphod's is among my top three concerts ever, and the time I saw Look People there stands as the weirdest night of live music I've ever seen or heard of.  Nostril shrimp diving, two ice cream cones up the drummers butt, and oh, so much more.

That being said, these are uncertain economic times and we have struggled to avoid a decision that will affect so many lives:  that on May 14th, 2017 Zaphod Beeblebrox will close it’s doors for the last time.

We want to say a heartfelt THANK-YOU to everyone who helped bring us this far – the bands, artists, artisans, DJs, promoters, management companies, press, media, product reps, vendors, sponsors, maintenance crews, all the wonderful staff (PAST + PRESENT), management, ownership and especially YOU the patrons. If you’ve ever attended a gig, hit the dancefloor, double-tapped a shot of Jager, or even yelled “BINGO!” – we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

That being said, we hope to see you before the end so we can share a drink and a laugh!
