Freak By Night
Loved the Colonel. Never saw him live, but he was crazy great in the movies "Slingblade" and "Outside Out". What a way to go - while performing at a concert in his honor.

edger
I watched it as well. So many mixed emotions. Tragically beautiful. Let your lovelight shine indeed. My thoughts are with the southern rock family through what must be yet another incredibly emotional and intense time. Just wow. On another note that young chap on guitar whom I believe the Colonel had been mentoring can rip it. He will be one to watch out for.
bouche
Yipes. RIP. It must be very creepy to have continued to play for so long, with that little guitarist and Popper playing right next to him after he laid down, realising later what happened. Jay Funk Dawg
Pretty sad that this all happened on his birthday with all his peers and fans in attendance... but I bet he would be happy that's how he went.. doing what he loved. I got to hang out with him when I promoted a show with him at the Great Hall. He said to me he would guess my birthday... but I should tell him what month...February I said... he had a bit of a think on it .. he said ''hmmm February 21st?' I said no, February 9th.. to which he responded... "Close though!" they are pretty cooking here RIP
