Velvet 153 Report post Posted March 9, 2018 (edited) Herbie Hancock Alison Krauss Bela Fleck & the Flecktones Jerry Douglas Boz Scaggs Jerry Granelli with Robben Ford Tanya Tagaq Sure, they probably spent less than usual this year, but that's some pretty good music. Too bad Kamasi Washington isn't coming back. I might have to go to Montreal Jazz Fest for his set. bouche 106 Report post Posted March 9, 2018 Happy to see Lake Street Dive back on board. Obviously they will be a main stage act this year after packing the tent in 2014. Who are all these other people playing anyway?

Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted March 20, 2018 St. Germain has been added! Not sure what kind of show he puts on, but his records are super rad, so hopefully it will be a fun night.

phorbesie 90 Report post Posted April 6, 2018 (edited) Just got my pass and noticed that they are moving the stages around this year. Maybe trying to keep the park from getting destroyed? The main stage will be in front of City Hall and the tent will be behind it in that field where Bluesfest used to have a side stage. Also, Chaka Khan has been added. Booche 235 Report post Posted April 7, 2018 Wow. Cool. This might end up being setup like that days when I loved Bluesfest in that location. We are getting hit hard with some amazing acts thanks to Jazzfest and Bluesfest. Suck the juice people!!!!!!!!!!!
Freak By Night 37 Report post Posted April 10, 2018 Confederation Park will be closed because of major sewer construction going on underneath it. https://ottawa.ca/en/node/1029811 Suck up the juice, indeed!

Also, Chaka Khan has been added. They still haven't uploaded the site map to their website, sooooo question for you (or anyone else who has seen one): Which way does the main stage face? Is it set up at the Canal end of Marion Dewar Plaza, facing west? Or will it be set up closer to the courthouse and face east? I've seen both configurations for concerts on that lawn, and the location of the stage will likely impact my ticket buying.
phorbesie 90 Report post Posted May 15, 2018 I don't know but my guess is that the stage would be set up like it used to be at Bluesfest, facing east?

That was first assumption as well, although the only times I can remember a stage being there for events in the past few years (post-Bluesfest) it was at the other end facing west. Although none of those were the size of Jazzfest. We shall see.

Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 Main stage went up today. It is in the northwest corner of the plaza (think closest to the Elgin / Laurier intersection) facing diagonally towards the southeast corner.
