Velvet 154 Report post Posted May 22, 2019 The new Trey movie is playing once - July 17th - at a bunch of theatres, including a lot in Canada. For Ottawa folks, Dan Lyons has extras he's trying to sell. https://www.betweenmeandmymind.com/tickets/?campaign=USA_BMM_MailChimp_SANSA

Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted July 17, 2019 Tomorrow night! (And by "tomorrow" I mean Wednesday.) It's playing at 6:45 and 9:05 at South Keys here in Ottawa. I'll be at the 6:45 show.

Jay Funk Dawg 41 Report post Posted July 18, 2019 Super sad I missed it - I was out rehearsing for my Studio One Tribute show, hopefully it will be available to watch after last night release. Seems like a super intimate portrait of a prolific musician.
Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted July 18, 2019 Intimate is right. There were a few components to it: a little but of live footage (though not much), a good chunk of studio and rehearsal footage with various collaborators, and then a series of one-on-one chats between Trey and his family / friends / band mates. Very much a portrait of where he is at now and how all of these relationships helped shape him and continue to be so important to him. It was touching, really. A few lighthearted moments as well. Northern Wish 63 Report post Posted July 18, 2019 The last three pages here are pretty funny, as people talk about what each theater's "scene" was like: https://www.phantasytour.com/bands/phish/threads/4544597/embarrassing-theater-stories-from-tonight I missed it, I will have to wait for the inevitable VOD drop. Velvet 154 Report post Posted July 18, 2019 I liked it a lot, but I think I would like a movie about Fish, Mike or Page even more.
Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted July 18, 2019 Fish came off exactly the same as he did in Bittersweet Motel, and I mean that in the best way.
Hartamophone 83 Report post Posted July 19, 2019 Also, I hadn't listened to the Ghosts of the Forest album before yesterday, but I'm really digging it now.
Davey Boy 2.0 199 Report post Posted July 19, 2019 "Jon Sullen Melancholy" was hilarious.
Velvet 154 Report post Posted July 19, 2019 He referenced/previewed that in the last Alpine show. Like the "You're fuckin' here you're fuckin' there..." which he did at last night Mohegan Sun. In-show product placement.
