keither
I'm starting to put on more shows out West again... and we're still working on trying to buy our own venue here in Vancouver. I'd like to put together a comprehensive list of just who all the Canadian jambands are... here's what I have thus far. If everyone could build to the list (or fill in any blanks I've left) that would be great. I'd also like to know where they're from, and if they have a website (or how I can get in contact with each of them). Slammin Jack - Vancouver, BC - www.slamminjack.com Themasses - Vancouver, BC - www.themasses.ca Inject - Vancouver, BC - www.inject.org Doppler (D)efect - Vancouver, BC Space Time Continuum - Vancouver, BC Funkshun - Vancouver, BC Kynkayd - Vancouver, BC - www.kynkayd.com Kaejema - Vancouver, BC - www.kaejema.com Brickhouse - Vancouver, BC Stephen Franke & Noises from the Toolshed - Victoria, BC - www.stephenfranke.ca Freeflow - Vancouver, BC Namedropper - Vancouver, BC Transit - Vancouver, BC Blue Quarter - Canmore, AB Recipe from a Small Planet - Calgary, AB Nola Park - Victoria, BC Cube - Nelson, BC Springer & Ducommun - Vancouver, BC Rabnett 5 - Vancouver, BC West Coast Funk Mob - Vancouver, BC - www.westcoastfunkmob.com Zigabooty - Vancouver, BC Copastatic - Vancouver, BC Threat from Outer Space - Vancouver, BC Grand Theft Bus Jimmy Swift Band - Halifax, NS? Fat Cats Burt Neilson Band Hiway Freeker - Montreal, QC? Fat Jebus Nero Tala That's about all I could think of off the top of my head. Hope I didn't forget someone I shouldn't have... it's been a busy day. Anyways... that list is looking really nice to kick things off. Things are really looking up for the future of jam in Canada... there's a hell of a lot of talent on that list!! Let's giv'er and see how many we can come up with from all across the country. Myself & my business partners have started looking at possible plans for a West-Coast 3 or 4-day jam festival for the summer of 2005 in BC's Interior (probably the Okanagan... one of the guys owns 3000 acres just outside Kamloops that would be perfect!!)... and it's never too early to start looking at potential performers, eh? This is fun. I hope to see that list grow quite a bit. Thank you everybody in advance for your input. Peace from the left coast. Keither

keither
Haven't seen Threat for a few years now, but the last time I did they were pretty good. I've heard they've improved in leaps & bounds since then... and I know they're touring out East as we speak (or... post, I guess!). bouche
Let's make Dr.Huxtable go west! HOO HA! Dr.Huxtable would seriously take over the western scene, and because of the talent and style, would unfortunately hurt the west coast scene rather than improve it. No one would be interested in any other bands BUT Dr.Huxtable and all other band's shows attendances would drop merely because of the fullfillment of seeing just one or 2 Dr.Huxtable shows. I suppose it would almost be a favour to the rest of Canadian bands if Dr.Huxtable just stayed in the Ottawa area until things are more stable.
