  1. I think they are using a flash player. I read people in their forum having issues, and the common fix is to reinstall flash. Check out this link... http://www.infocellar.com/software/streaming-media.htm look up ways to save streaming flash files. it's pretty much the same technology that Youtube uses, so if you find a solution for saving youtube streams, it'll probably work.
  2. For more silly commercials head over to Big Stupid Idiot and get your laugh on.
  3. I'm a big fan of chinatown. There's a great market at about 1042 somerset which is probably the end of chinatown that has lots of great fresh seafood, beef, pork, chicken bones, and vegetables. Lots of japanese and korean crazy shit too. Maybe go buy a bunch of Pocky Sticks? Shanghai BOy Noodle House at Somerset and Bronson is the best pho/noodle place. Yangztee and the place across the street, Chu Shing have the best Dim Sum. Maybe that's all off topic, but food seems to be what I remember most about cities. http://ottawafoodies.com don't forget to hit Hull for some poutine. The Pataterie is pretty damn good. wait, you're veggie aren't you? Ignore all my meat suggestions.
  4. you'll have no problem getting a boyfriend around there. there's plenty of gays
  5. is there building code specific to the Spades? that would make a great poster. Simulate building code regulations to include a subsection for The Spades.
  6. this week was particularly entertaining. Aside from Glen Hansard covering REM's Hair Shirt, the Diggnation guys were on the show wednesday and it was hilarious. Russell Brand was on earlier, and he's nutz. Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht basically simulated Diggnation on Fallon. They all pulled out laptops and beers and went through a sample story like they would on the web show. Alex: You just stole my story! By far, the funniest interview of the week was Tracey Morgan's appearance. Holy Shit, that was pure comedic gold. If you haven't seen it, download that shit. here's a sample
  7. Moogis Stream Now, I won't deny that this is a pretty cool service, however, I have a problem with their business model. I'm don't understand the flat rate. How can they assume that EVERYONE can and wants to see EVERY show? If one just wants to see the clapton events, or ratdog (cough), they would have to pay the full $125. That's robbery. Mind you, this is a low quality version of the stream that they are selling
  8. you need to be sure you know what format that you want to capture. Not all streamed content is the same. what are you looking to capture?

    Bluesfest...

I had a dream last night that Gentle Monkey's idea of the BnB powered night was the beginning of something amazing in Ottawa. We got to make that happen somehow. This isn't it, but I love this Marvin Gaye cover
  10. Congratulations Ottawa! That's a really good win for us Kev-O, that's fantastic. You picked the perfect time. Winter is over. You'll be living close enough to my work for me to hijack your lunch every once and a while.
  11. mike's song is a bit.... how shall we say ... a-fack0n-mazien'?
  12. oh yeah! just remembering that we got to hear Billy Breaths live before it was ever released. WOW@ that was a great experience! Beautiful acoustic moments and harmonies. I didn't know that the setup was that tiny.
  13. Use This Link if you have a webcam and a printer. Use this if you don't want to bother. Super cool. It works great.
  14. Sparkle. wow. I remember spinning round and round at that facking song.
  15. they weren't even born! MsHux: They're lucky that it's not black and white.
  16. I didn't know that they'd drop them, but it makes sense. They can't host that shit for free forever. I would LOVE to see the stats on upsales to FLACS or SHNS. I hope that worked out. Yet another great internet experiment like Radiohead's giveaway.
  17. Just had to type that set I is just so killer. I mean, how can anyone start out in daylight with a set like that? I'm slowly getting tiny floods of memories of the weekend experience just from watching and listening. The map is in the booklet, so I could see sort of where we were "camping". The sound is great, but I am disappointed in the video technology of 1996. I forgot that they didn't have HD. waaaahhhhH! I'm finding it much better to make sure that the tv is displaying the concert in the native 4:3 and making sure the sidebars are black. I could see watching this thing from end to end. It's really good. I hope everyone gets to see it. Especially if you were there. How long is the drive to Red Rocks?
  18. perhaps we can. if we can split free, we should come out ahead somehow.
  19. SXSW put out a 6 gig torrent of music is it any good? I can't reach this stuff from work.
