  1. Bombino is called the African Jimi Hendrix by some critics, but to me he's more like Santana. Really smoking guitarist.

  3. Matt Andersen is one of the people playing the Paquin showcase. That I know for sure.
  4. If you have the ability you REALLY want to go to the Terra Lightfoot show. Not only is her band and album great, there are some surprise SPECIAL GUESTS opening that you will regret missing out on. Not even kookycanooky knows who is playing.
  5. I took my (nearly) seven year old son to see this movie before Christmas and he loved it. I had no problem with him watching it. He's really into Star Wars and Doctor Who, the latter of which can be much scarier than Avatar was.
  6. I thought this place was closed on December 1st and the locks were changed by the police?
  7. Here is my quickie review: http://www.exclaim.ca/musicreviews/latestsub.aspx?csid1=138&csid2=870&fid1=42201
  8. The new bass player was really good. He fit really well with Matt Abts, although he occasionally needed head nods to know when to change timbre. At least it's not like Phil Lesh and Friends where PL's yelling out chord changes to the band mid-jam!
  9. I was in the 2nd row. They had a clock on Warren's amp that said 8:00 when they came on stage.
  10. It was weird to go to Toronto and see half of Port Dover in the front row of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Guess I've lived away from that area for too long, because one of the dudes who I've known for 20+ years (Jason 'Byrd' Misener, who went out with my neighbour Haley when I was in highschool) didn't even recognize me. Oh well... 1st set was stronger than the second.
  11. I think the encore would have been much more interesting had it been Metallica's James Hetfield on stage with the Mule and Gordie Johnson sitting on the side of the stage watching
  12. I will be there. I just got offered some free tickets about 30 minutes ago, checked with my wife and I'm good to go
  13. Say it isn't so: http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=41&threadid=69521#unread I've been buying this thing since 1987, so I really really hope this is not the end!

Why would they need to play with someone else? I'd be VERY happy if these shows were just them - and didn't sell out. God, if there's one thing I don't miss about Dead shows after 1988 is how insanely cramped they were (except for Europe 90).

I asked my wife to get me a ticket to Buffalo for my birthday next week. If I had more money, it'd be nice to go to Worcester for the two shows before too. That's a nice arena, I've been to a few Worcester Sharks hockey games when down there on business...
