  20. Hello Skanks, I'm in a bluegrass/jamgrass band called The Unseen Strangers, some of you may have seen me post on here about The Strangeboys, same band, new name. We just moved to Toronto from Halifax, haven't played many shows, but our new album is all recorded and we're ready to start playing live again, starting this Friday, upstairs at The El Mocambo. Doors open at 9:00, show starts at 10:00 and cover is only $6! That's right, we're practically giving it away. check our website or our myspace to hear some tunes from the new album. We played Evolve for the last 3 years as well as a bunch of other shit around the East Coast, so don't worry, we're legit and the show won't suck. For you Ottawa heads, we'll be playing at The Clocktower Pub on Bank St. Saturday September 25th, and at The Elmdale House on Friday October 29th. See you there! Oh, and if you like us on Facebook we'll keep you posted about our upcoming shows.

Tightly composed original songs and improv jamming, all put together on that most beautiful combination of acoustic instruments - Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle and Bass. Check out sets from last summer's Sunseeker's Ball and Evolve Cosmic Granola - Crunchy, funky rock from Thunder Bay. Really fun to dance to. Their originals are thoughtful, fun and tight, their jams will keep you grooving uncontrollably all night. strangeboys.ca cosmicgranola.ca You're gonna LOVE it!

If you like bluegrass music, and you like jam bands, come check us out. we've been playing together for 2.5 years now, based out of Halifax, and we're about to move to Toronto, so you'll see a lot more of us in the spring time. Come support Canadian Jam Band Music! strangeboys.ca
  25. hello fellow CanJam friends, warning: Shameless plug to follow. Just wanted to let you guys know about a great Jam event happening tonight (monday the 29th) at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. There's two bands on the bill: Cosmic Granola (Thunder Bay Groovegasm) and the Strangeboys (Halifax Jamgrass insanity). all the fun and excitement of bluegrass music, combined with funk, techno/electronica, reggae and rock jams that make you think "how are they making those sounds on acoustic instruments?" We (the Strangeboys) have been playing shows together for just over a year and have been working really hard to put together a live show that takes bluegrass and acoustic music to new places while still keeping ourselves firmly anchored to that traditional "High, lonesome sound". Show starts at 9:30 PM with Cosmic Granola, followed by The Strangeboys at 10:45. Hope you can make it, i promise you'll have a good time. www.strangeboys.ca
