  2. That's literally the case here. People either LOVE them or HATE them. There is no in between with this band for some reason.

I don't know about that. I don't mind the Eagles, but I'm not exactly gushing with excitement at this latest opportunity to spend exorbitant amounts of mulla to see these old has beens.

  3. My friend Karen from CHUO is organizing an event for the afternoon of Sunday, November 4. A Taste of CHUO will be happening at Ottawa City Hall on Sunday, November 4th from 1-5pm. The following details are from the email she sent me:

It's 5$ to get in, Kichesippi Beer, Sage wellness, Fall down gallery painting live, couple live musicians, chuo soundtrack to 1-4pm food fair...Simply Raw, Pressed, island Flava, Bananas, Imperial Diner, Hang Ten Tacos, El Tucan, Habesha Ethiopian, P'tit Grecque, Bombay Gardens.

There is a facebook event page lacking in detail here: Link

    Beer, food, music...

  4. I might be there, but I think I'd need a good show in Toronto the day before or the day after to justify the trip.

Does Bob Dylan with Mark Knopfler count?

I saw DSO this summer at the Gathering of the Vibes festival. I thoroughly enjoyed the show & highly recommend them for folks who like that kind of thing. Yeah they are a cover band, but a damn good one.

  5. As I drive my way from St. John's to Corner Brook, over the course of a week, stopping in some pretty little towns along the way, I am pleased to have discovered this tasty, unpretentious little brew from the Quidi Vidi Brewing Company:

  6. As an aside, four of us walked into K Rock Centre in Kingston without showing our tickets to anyone, there was simply nobody at the open door. Coulda been a free show for us.

It was better than that. We then walked down onto the floor without having to show our tickets as well.

My favorite kind of security is distracted security!

Sasquatch Stout from Chilliwack is a tasty stout. Especially when drinking it on a patio overlooking Harrison Lake in the Fraser Valley, whiling away the evening hours before the Scientists of Sound play at the closest bar to your motel.
