  1. Last night / this morning Weird Al announced a very long international tour with plenty of Canadian dates. He's playing everywhere but here are the Canadian shows. 06-26 Windsor, Ontario - Caesars Windsor: The Colosseum 07-17 Hamilton, Ontario - Hamilton Place Theatre 07-18 Rama, Ontario - Casino Rama Entertainment Centre 07-19 Ottawa, Ontario - Ottawa Bluesfest 07-20 London, Ontario - Centennial Hall 07-24 Halifax, Nova Scotia - Casino Nova Scotia: Schooner Showroom 07-25 Moncton, New Brunswick - Casino New Brunswick: The Centre 09-08 Vancouver, British Columbia - Queen Elizabeth Theatre 09-09 Penticton, British Columbia - South Okanagan Events Centre 09-11 Enoch, Alberta - River Cree Resort and Casino: The Venue 09-12 Calgary, Alberta - Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
  2. In high school, as a joke to torment a friend / band-mate I learned Don't Speak by No Doubt. I still remember it and it goes over well in the company of 30-something-old drunk people.
  3. Phil Selway is touring this year but haven't heard any rumours of Radiohead heading out on the road. Those two site are not the same place.
  4. There is an ottawa pinball league for sure. And a ladies league I believe. Again, one inquiry at Targ or to their social media will get all the info you need if you're interested.
  5. I'm sure you've heard this before, and likely from me, but you have to book some time for House of Targ next time you're in town. You'd completely love it.
  6. I was referring to lots of choice for your summer festival dollar if you're living near Toronto.
  7. http://exclaim.ca/Music/article/bonnaroo_co-founder_bringing_new_homeaway_festival_to_toronto Interesting. Lots of choice, maybe too much? Hmm.
  8. Was just gonna mention that, ha
  9. I forgot to mention my love for Timber Timbre's 2014 album Hot Dreams. Totally excellent and one of the best live shows I saw this year as well.
  10. I'm sure there will be growing / moving pains and complaints sure, I hope they are minimal. But I believe it's a huge step forward. Just having the festival take place in civilization (compared to Hog's Back) is a major plus.
  11. The last 4 letters of the new name are Folk
  12. Oh right, your negatives have to be mine too, forgot. I won't be driving to Lansdowne for this festival so I'm not worried about parking. And I know from experience that the site has a built-in plan for getting big crowds to the site easily, so I struggle to see the negative there for others. But if you want to be negative have at it. Noise complaints - those will happen anywhere, anytime, and they don't affect my enjoyment of the festival so no, not a negative to me. I guess if you really empathize with the very small number of complainers it might really affect you too, but I sincerely hope that's not the case.
  13. If OSEG can get 24k people to football games they can get 15k to the same site.
  14. Well the noise complaints thing didn't really affect the festival so what's the issue? People will complain no matter what. Make the sound the best it can be and try not to piss many people off, and that's the best they can do. Parking - bike, bus, maybe there will be shuttles from Carleton etc.
  15. Lots of media articles out there on this, perhaps someone will post one. Great move to move the festival. Hogs Back was fine but so many drawbacks. Can't see many negatives if any for Lansdowne.
  16. Run The Jewels Mono - The Last Dawn Foxygen - ... And Star Power Caribou - Our Love

    RIP Karl Letonja

I can't remember ever meeting him in person (which in itself means it probably did ) but way back in the day I got some of my first and best shows through trading with him, or trading through other people to see Karl's name as the source of the show. Sorry to hear this news.
  18. Bidini has always been like that, I just hate that I've come to know that side of him through Facebook etc. Makes me respect him and his work so much less. Was better when all we had was the music and not the preachy asshole side of him.
  19. I think we excel at having infrastructure and people that can endure, however imperfectly, both 40 degree heat and -40 degree "heat." Perhaps you were talking about hurricanes or tsunamis or something like that, but cities/civilizations built in areas with 70-80 degree temperature swings season to season are nothing to sneeze at. And same goes for the people, though many of them complain too much.
  20. Maybe you could do a trade and the band could play for 4 hours and $60 at the clown's next party.
  21. There was no talk of a secret gig until his band hinted at it, if you want to call that a "leak." The whole thing is definitely fishy.
  22. Article in exclaim saying it was a technical rehearsal and band apologizes. I'd post link but can't paste anything into reply box on iPhone.
  23. People in line have mentioned flowers being delivered etc but nothing of film equipment. But then again that CBC report was the first to mention musical equipment...
  24. A host from 102.1 FM said on Twitter that Prince "just isn't feeling it."
  25. @LiveNationON: In response to inquiries, we can confirm that Prince will not be performing at @masseyhall tonight.
