Lineup to be announced next week. My theory, based on nothing, for the delayed announcement is that they've booked Arcade Fire as headliner but have to wait til after this weekend's arena show to announce. Time will tell if my hunch is correct.

The rest of the Queen dates (the American shows) don't leave any room for Ottawa (to my eye anyways).

Whatever the Western Digital media player is called these days will do the trick. Plays almost every format, has all the internet video things (netflix, youtube, mlb.tv, etc etc), doesn't require any software (such as itunes) to use. It can be wired or wireless I think. It's good stuff, yes. I have maybe 20 titles and only a few have been a waste of time. If you want to test out the concept before buying, there are at least 2 "compilation" volumes which pull parts of many volumes into one. Good way to see if you'd want to read further.

that's how you announce a festival. wasn't too awed by the lineup but that was a great way to do it.

She's playing at the Manx tomorrow night, along with author Iain Reid as a benefit for the Shepherds of Good Hope. Tickets sold out last week.

It was excellent. I'll be seeing Kathleen Edwards at the Manx on Monday night. Should be good.

It's a Everly Brothers album. I've heard their version and it's ok, but Bonnie Prince Billy and Dawn McCarthy did pretty much the same thing earlier this year and it's far superior to my ears.

Great publicity though, out of 2 sentences on the ticketing website. Smart move.

I can't listen to his stuff. The majority of comments I've read about his music are very longwinded about his technical abilities, circular breathing, tone etc, but don't say much about composition, melody, songcraft, etc. From what I've heard it's merely technique-building drills that he recorded and put out. But, some people obviously love the album so more power to him/them.
