I guess this show didn't sell as well right out of the gate as they hoped it would.

And if I get burned because of it, well then hooray that so many people are enjoying this band again!
That's the attitude! I feel the same way.... if they were playing like shit it would be easier to get a ticket.

I got through for first night of Mohegan Sun immediately, like in the first second. Ended up with the last row of the upper level.
Its a small place, its my brothers local arena and he said shows there are killer and that the last row is like lower 300's at MSG.
If you don't end up going I will take them! I already have on site hotels booked
-
Got Dicks Fields through PTBM.
Originally due to charges on my card I thought I also had Mohegan Sun but I forgot about the crazy exchange rate.
Shut out for both Mohegan this morning, even with 4 people running codes. One person had 4 nice seats for night 1 but the sale didn't go through before resetting the Queue #.
Got 203 Row E for Toronto.
I think I picked a bad day for my physical, I'm hopped up on caffeine and TM nerves!
-
Todd/ Heather do you guys still need help? It sounds like lots of folks went from wait list to Verified during the evening hours.
-
Lots of complaints out there about this Verified thing, but it is worth mentioning that for Springsteen on Broadway less than 5% of the seats made it out to secondary markets.
This isn't perfect but it is better than before.
Also I got my code and will do my best for you Phorbs / Velvet..... Can you PM me your phone number so I can be in touch?

I've been hunting my house looking for my old Slip cds and the search was fruitless. Then as fate would have it, Cleantone recently upped a Dropbox filled to the brim with old, and newer, and older Slip recordings:

NW, say the word and the dogs and I will drive on out to Baytown for a boozy pinball weekend!
Any time Jeff!
And the same goes for all of you skanks. Bayfield is a small town but full of charm and a few excellent pubs.

My dream is my own House of Targ downstairs.
I've since been to Ottawa and enjoyed House of Targ. The only issue I had is that many of the machines were in need of fixes. I know how tough it is to keep mine maintained and I'm not putting 1000's of plays on each week so I sympathize but I'm turning into a jaded vet on the scene.
And my dream is slowly coming true, I'm up to 7 machines now!
-
I love the look of that Beatles machine. I watched a few videos and the game play is similar to Batman 66, which is one of the best Stern releases in recent years. The only problem with the music themed machines (Aerosmith, Metallica, Iron Maiden and likely this one) is that they only contain a half dozen or so songs, all the hits, from your favorite band and within a few dozen plays you will come to loathe those once enjoyable melodies.
As for this one below, cool theme - crappy game. This is based on the Pabst Can Crusher from a few years ago that bored me to tears after only a few games. Smaller playfield, 3/4 flippers, no ramps. It is basically just eye candy to anyone who plays a bit of the silver ball.

How was it?
Setlist? -
Peaky goodness.
-
I've listened to this song loudly and often on my birthday about as long as I can remember and it still resonates.
Miss seeing your face around, best wishes Mike!

DMB was dope. The horns were super tight, and the new keyboard player (Buddy Strong) pushes things to a different level. And Carter Beauford alone was worth the price of admission. Great times.
I have a pass for tonight so I think I’m going to go for Eat a Peach and maybe some of Blue Rodeo.
3 hours ago, phorbesie said:That was my first DMB show and I thought it was fantastic! Really full sound, great interplay, jamming, funky, jazzy... Imprssed. Would definitely go see them again!
Thanks for your thoughts. I saw them in Toronto on Tuesday and had the same feeling walking out that you both relayed here but then I heard from a friend today that thought it was utter garbage at Bluesfest. Just getting a second opinion that I wasn't totally off base or way more drunk than I thought I was.
Interestingly, I also spoke with another friend who is a big DMB fan and I asked him about a possible jam of Free by Phish that I swore I heard during the end of Grace is Gone. He confirmed that he was freaking out a bit too. If they did it was super well placed: after speaking about the shitty things happening in the US, then playing a song that seemed to echo his pre-song statement and then reminding us Canadians that we are Free. Totally tin foil hat territory but who knows right?
-
I just saw them in Toronto and it was incredible. It was clear that each band member (11 piece!!!) was a total master of their instrument.
Their cover of The Band's cover of Springsteen's Atlantic City = straight fire.
-
They were on an advance press release I received from a local contact but apparently they couldn't come to terms at the last minute (ie. JRAD probably got a better offer for the same time frame before inking their contract).
My bad- sorry folks!

No camping, ends at 9. If anyone wants a room at the nearby Hampton Inn let me know - I have a pretty good discount arrangement with them.

I'm super excited that these shows are announced and they soften the market for Mohegan Sun.
