  1. Well that certainly qualifies as an illness. Get well soon Jann. The world could use your humor this year.
  2. It was announced Friday night that she had cancelled due to illness and that an announcement re: schedule change would be made on Saturday morning. By the time they made the announcement it was too late for me to change plans. Totally bummed, it sounds like it was an awesome Rheostatics set.
  3. I am so upset I missed both this and The Rheostatics headlining set last night (Jann Arden cancelled). Ryan's setlist looked amazing!
  4. FYI I just saw this note which may affect your desire to download: This is a High Definition video. It needs to be burned or streamed with High Definition / Blu ray capable equipment. UPDATE: This will play using the VLC player.
  5. Vish did some great writing for this tour! I received a link this morning that is apparently the 'backhaul' 1080p recording that the CBC did before they downgraded it to keep up with demand and without the CBC logo embedded in the screen. I have neither downloaded nor watched this to confirm but my source has never steered me wrong: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=127508
  6. "He was on a fishing trip that summer".... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/sudbury/gord-downie-visits-north-1.3733541
  7. Look at those perfectly worn jean shorts and the brand new Chucks. That is a $200 shirt from somewhere in SoHo.
  8. In London they had merch tents outside the show so you could buy and take the stuff back to your car before entering. See you tonight Otown!
  9. Some of the artists involved got together for a set of Dead tunes yesterday at a fest in Wisconsin: http://www.jambase.com/article/indie-superstars-present-day-dead-set-eaux-claires
  10. Please post the London show if you come across it. Thanks Esau!
  11. I always grin when I am reminded there are two Gords in The Tragically Hip. That alone makes them Canadian as fuck.
  12. I can't wait to get back to SC. Charleston is one of my favourite places. Too bad it's the tour opener but I'll take it.
  13. The Tragically Hip - 7.24.16 http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=587891
  14. I just found a pretty large directory of Hip shows for download: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0Bw93T0mNqQzpcG9HRFotZDk5MlE
  15. For your funky enjoyment..... A jammed out Tube and Wolfman's Brother featuring some Tupac "California Love" sandwiched in there from Chula Vista. Let's dance!
  16. Well you do get one "free" entry. I guess it's like my mom always says (usually when I'm hungover) If you want to dance you have to pay the band
  17. 50 winners, 100 tickets for each show to be offered up by day of show lottery: http://www.thehip.com/mmp-ticket-lottery/ Nice one boys!
  18. I figure this is pretty central so a lot of us will be making the trek. I'm going with a couple of skanks and my brother. We'll be starting the day at 1230pm at Dino BBQ.... See y'all at Lakeview!

I saw this in a thread about the show on PT: Fun fact: Kevin Shapiro was working an intern gig on Parliament Hill in Ottawa that summer.
