Is this the worst poster for a "big" show you have ever seen? It ranks up there for me.....

That was a pretty solid Friday and Saturday in a hallowed venue. Cheers to POG who made it out!

I didn't go but I was told the following things by the promoter: 1) His vocal range isn't perfect but his band is 2) Middle aged ladies still throw panties at performers 3) If you hold a show at a Masonic Hall be prepared for displaced Masons to show up anyway, demand entry and then smoke at the door the whole night 4) He jammed on Beatles tunes with Ron Sexsmith at the after party (this is the only reason I am pissed I didn't go)

Also of note is that Ryan appears as though he is touring with The Infamous Stringdusters with s/g Nikki Bluhm for this tour. By all accounts the first show in Telluride on Saturday was hot!

I'm on the list for Stratford tonight. If I go I will post a report.

And they added a country day on Sunday. This event is a nightmare for vendors this year who have already set schedules for summer business. We might have to bail because Ryan Adams was ADDED to the festival. I never thought I would say that in a 1000 years. We won't have time to get back from The Hip in Ottawa to set up in time. You can't just add extra days 2 months before your festival! I really want to love the festival because of the site and the crowd (and how much they spend on our stuff) but JP is making it really, really tough.

Dean Brody seems out of place, is there anything other 'new country' (I'm sure that is not what the straw hat kids are calling it) on that lineup? I don't know the hip hoppers but this seems like a huge letdown after last year.

Emily used to work for me on my Ottawa Folk Festival crew. She is a died in the wool music fan, I am super happy for her! I just got a note from my cousin who scored me some really close but side stage tickets for Ottawa (Sec 108 Row J). Woo!

Terribly. It seems we all went into a queue before 11am and no one I'm chatting with (14 devices total) even pulled one lousy pair. I've got a new projector and sound system that I'm going to use to show some classic Hip performances on the shop wall (30 ft x 60 ft). If you're interested, it is likely going to be Friday August 5th if you are nearby. I am definitely getting a keg! Edit: Or if the CBC broadcasts the final show the event will be on August 20.

No my wife was trying really hard to get me in so she was trying all different seat selection options just to see.

Those were the Platinum seats.

We pulled two pairs for Toronto. The first were $875 each, the second were $1300 each for the outside aisle in the front row. I didn't pull one single pair for Hamilton. Cmon Budweiser Gardens non Ticketmaster system!!

This wasn't directed at anyone on here or anyone specific in the internet world, I just hated to read all of the gripes about tickets. At the end of the day a true Canadian icon is going to hit the road with his band rather than spend valuable time with his family. To whomever gets in, good on ya!

I'm sickened by the public reaction to the ticket pre-sales so far. I bet The Hip's team feel like taking their ball and going home. This went from an awesome victory lap to a whine fest of epic proportions. I hope and trust that you'll all get the tickets that you seek or that you'll understand that this isn't a giant StubHub conspiracy it is simple supply and demand.

I was in at 10am on the Amex presale for London and the best I could pull were 300 level side stage. Pass.

I preordered the vinyl set and delivery time is delayed until later in the summer.
