  2. The Ottawa crowd was lucky though as they not only got "Mull of Kintyre for the Anglophones in the Canadian Capital Region, they also got "Michelle" for the Francophone in the region. It felt like a hybrid of a Toronto concert with "Mull of Kintyre" for the English speaking fans and a Montreal/Quebec City concert with "Michelle" for the French speaking fans! Though don't tell the Ottawa fans it was had influences of a Toronto Paul gig, they may boo! It was so funny that the eighty-one year old lady that came up to on stage to hug Paul in the encore in between "Hi, Hi, Hi" and "Get Back." She told Paul on the microphone she is from Toronto and a good chunk of the crowd booed! Paul told those who booed "You're bad people!" Then he said "She's from Ottawa!" Also Paul McCartney performed the original "Happy Birthday" (also known as "Happy Birthday to You") written in 1893 by Patti & Mildred J. Hill for Ringo Starr's birthday after "Maybe I'm Amazed" and before "I've Just Seen a Face." I was surprised that Paul wouldn't have done his "Birthday" instead. I am guessing he choose not to because he added both "Michelle" for the Francophone and "Mull of Kintyre" for the Anglophones in the Ottawa crowd. Due to the addition of all three of those songs and including the Jimi Hendrix "Foxey Lady" jam at the end of "Let Me Roll It," that was the most songs I've ever seen McCartney perform at one concert 42!
  3. Thanks Velvet, I hope your gig goes well.

    TURF talk

I hope TURF is successful so that it continues in Toronto for years to come. Unfortunately I was unable to attend any of the days this year, but there is always next year.
  5. Anybody else going to see Furthur at Cooperstown on July 14th? I can't wait to walk around the Baseball Hall of Fame with a bunch of deadheads before the doors open for the gig!
  6. I can't wait for this gig! I'll be at the Toronto date.
  7. It took Neil Young & Crazy Horse to get me to attend the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic. Whatever has been said about this nice little festival in Dundas being a family event, I believe Crazy Horse will destroy that atmosphere. At least by the time the Crazy Horse gear is being set up. SMELL THE HORSE ON THIS ONE!
  8. This is on the same day as Bruce Hornsby in Toronto.
  9. I should probably buy a ticket for this before it sells out.
  10. Great photos! I was happy with what will likely be my last Rolling Stones gig. I was happy to get no special guest when it meant we got Mick Taylor for 3 songs, especially on "Can't You Hear Me Knocking!"
  11. How was Mickey Hart a dickhead instead of just a deadhead at Hillside last year?
  12. I also want to go to this moe. gig, but need to wait and see what else gets announced around that time. Maybe I see moe. two years in a row in Toronto and maybe I won't.
  13. Hello Old Friends, I haven't been on here in a while and I wanted to check in. I'm heading up to Ottawa tomorrow to see Paul McCartney on Sunday and I felt I should see who from the National Capital Region on this good old message board will also be attending the gig? It'll be sweet seeing McCartney perform for the first time in Ottawa and on Ringo Starr's birthday! As Ringo always says, Peace and Love!
  14. I checked and responded. Sorry for the late reply, I was at Paul McCartney in Detroit last night. Peace, Tim
  15. I am trying to unload a pair of tickets for: An Evening with Gillian Welch The Phoenix Concert Theatre Mon Jul 25, 2011 7:00 PM The pair came to $69.50 OBO I'm willing to split the pair and sell them as singles. PM me if you're interested. Peace, Tim
  16. I won't know where I'm sitting until the day of the gigs since I got tickets through Pearl Jam Ten Club. I got tickets for both gigs at the Air Canada Centre. Pearl Jam's system was so not prepared for this week that I spent over 5 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday trying to get tickets with no sucess. It felt like trying to get tickets in the nineties. Finally PJ decided to let the professionals sell their tickets. They called their old adversary ticketmaster and then today at 5 pm I was able to pull tickets for two gigs in less than 4 minutes. I'm excited of the fact that PJ is performing in Toronto during the Toronto International Film Festival. Last time they did was in 2005 and Bono came out during the encore and performed Uncle Neil's "Rockin' in the Free World." It will be interesting if they pull out any guests this time around. Peace, Tim
  17. Hey hamilton, I remember that gig that we went to at the Fox Theatre to see the Neil Young & Crazy Horse 'Greendale Tour.' As far as I can remember there was a fan or multiple fans whistling which was disturbing the performance and Neil gave them crap for it. Peace, Tim
  18. The setlist could be exactly the same both nights, this may happen because the two gigs are being recorded for a film. Giving an opportunity to have two chances to get the best performance of each song. Peace, Tim
  19. I got tickets for both Neil Young Massey Hall gigs. These will be my 51st and 52nd Neil gigs not including two times seeing him when he did not perform music. Neil is always a no brainer for me personally, if the Ryman gigs that Jonathan Demme directed back in 2005 for the film 'Heart of Gold' were available I would have tried for them. Now I don't have to travel at all to see Demme direct another Neil Young tour. The film 'Heart of Gold' was amazing, much like another Demme rockumentary 'Stop Making Sense' about the Talking Heads. And I saw Demme introduce 'Trunk Show' at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2009 and it was also great. These shows will be recorded a few months past the 40th anniversary of Neil Young Live at Massey Hall. Which I assume the film will mention. Long Live Neil Young, Tim
  20. Well I will see you at the Phish weekend then. Since it will likely be in the Northeast. You are right about seeing the Warren Haynes Band on tour and there is already talks that Buffalo Springfield will be touring in the fall. Peace, Tim
  21. Hey edger, All the acts I mentioned were on the lineup minuse Jack White. I just believe with Jack White now living in Nashville and his associations with Loretta Lynne and Wanda Jackson that he is a shoe in to come out again this year. Peace, Tim
  22.
