  1. I love that the video of Eric Clapton with Buddy Guy is from the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 which I was at. I can't wait to see Clapton in February with Jeff Beck and then with Roger Daltrey. Here's hoping for another Crossroads Guitar Festival in the summer of 2010. Peace, Tim PS Oh ya, what a great commercial, though I don't think I'll be looking into getting the Fender MyTouch 3G. Can someone from Canada even get it?
  2. The highest grossing band on the last decade in the USA. Globally there were some acts that made more money than the DMB. That said I'm a fan of the DMB and if they're not playing bonnaroo I will try and hit up either Toronto or Darien Lake. Peace, Tim
  3. Happy Birthday Sara! I hope you have a great year. And I look forward to seeing you on Friday after midnight! Peace and Love, Tim
  4. So based on that logic you would not have wanted Phish to perform bonnaroo last year? Also U2 have never reunited as they have never broken up and they still perform as a four piece band with their original members. Peace, Tim
  5. There are rallies happening all over Canada on January 23, 2010 protesting the Proroguing Parliament and suspending democracy. Look at the website http://noprorogue.ca/ for rallies in your area. I am a member of the Oakville District Labour Council so I will be at the rally in Oakville. Tim

It would be amazing to see Sly and the Family Stone. Tim
  8. Rest in peace Kate McGarrigle, She sounded and looked great last year when I saw her with her sister and kids at Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday Concert. Looking back I'm so glad I saw her perform that day with her family. Peace, Tim
  9. My condolences on your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Peace and Love, Tim
  10. I don't now why phishheads are singled out either. I look at myself as a phishhead, they were the act I saw the most in 2009 (7 times). I just personally would rather diversify my concert going over the year as I love so many different artists and genres of music. I respect Jaimoe's opinion and if I don't agree with his opinion I usually understand where it comes from. So I took his compliment at face value. Peace, Tim
  11. My bad I meant to write in Buddy Miller I worked a full day before I put this list together and wrote down the wrong Buddy. And thanks for the compliment. Tim
  12. Hey Laurie, It took me several hours but I finally got my complete list of the gigs and artists that I saw in 2009. Some on the list are not musicians, they were either on the bill as emcees or presenters or stand up comedians or whatever they were on the bill. I count a different venue as a different gig, even if it was on the same calender day. I also count ever different day at festivals like bonnaroo and Rothbury as a different day of gigs. Based on the above I saw 81 gigs and 266 artists in 2009. Peace, Tim 2009 Concerts: 1. Casino Rama SAT JAN 3 Orillia, ON 1-Temptations 2-The Four Tops 2. 14. I'm working on it the list, it takes me hours to figure out how many gigs I've seen in a year and then even more time to figure out all the acts that were at those gigs. Peace, Tim
  15. I would only count the acts that I saw at festivals or otherwise, not just heard from the parking lot or campgrounds. How can you count acts that you did not see just because they were opening acts on a bill? Tim
  16. It is a disappointment alas not a surprise. I'm just glad I saw the Flight of the Conchords at Massey Hall earlier this year. Tim
  17. I would love to also see that. Alas I need to study for my upcoming exam which happens on Thursday then I will take the time to figure out how many gigs and acts I have seen in 2009. I'm guessing over 60 gigs and I have no idea how many acts. Tim
  18. Toronto and Montreal are really two of the luckiest cities for Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck fans. Usually Clapton has been performing the special co-headlining or sharing the stage gigs in North America in New York City only with Cream in 2005 and Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood in 2008, though the two Blind Faith members did tour North America again in 2009. Clapton and Beck performed in Japan in 2009 and are about to perform in London, UK before coming over to NYC and usually it ends there. Well not this time then they two former Yardbirds are playing in Toronto and Montreal. Which makes it all the more special is after the Montreal Clapton & Beck Together & Apart gig five days later Clapton continues to tour in the United States without Beck intead with Roger Daltrey opening. Here are the upcoming dates: Tour Date Venue Details Ticketing Feb 18, 10 Madison Square Garden New York, NY With Jeff Beck > More Info Feb 19, 10 Madison Square Garden New York, NY With Jeff Beck > More Info Feb 21, 10 Air Canada Centre Toronto With Jeff Beck > More Info Feb 22, 10 Bell Centre Montreal, xx With Jeff Beck > More Info Feb 25, 10 Mellon Arena Pittsburg, PA With Roger Daltrey > More Info Feb 27, 10 Sommet Center Nashville, TN With Roger Daltrey > More Info Feb 28, 10 BJCC Arena Birmingham, AL With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 02, 10 BOK Center Tulsa, OK With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 03, 10 Sprint Center Kansas City, MO With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 05, 10 FedEx Forum Memphis, TN With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 06, 10 New Orleans Arena New Orleans, LA With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 08, 10 RBC Center Raleigh, NC With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 09, 10 Gwinnett Center Atlanta, GA With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 11, 10 Bank Atlantic Center Fort Lauderdale, FL With Roger Daltrey > More Info Mar 13, 10 Amway Arena Orlando, FL With Roger Daltrey > More Info
  19. Eric Clapton is my all-time favorite guitarist and Jeff Beck is right up there as well. I'm so glad this gig is coming to Toronto at the ACC as I would have traveled to NYC to MSG to see this gig and now it's in my own backyard. I often don't get the top ticket prices anymore but to see Slowhand with Beck I decided to try for best available and I ened up with Floor Right Row 5. Peace, Tim
  20. Hey Kanada Kev, I got them a bit ago and unfortunately I don't have any extras. Buffalo gigs, specifically HSBC throught ticket.com is famous for releasing tickets early the day of the gig. For example one that is for a even a Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band gig, the last time they played HSBC which was last winter I got a pair of GA floor the day of the gig. So check early and often today and tomorrow. Good luck, Tim
  21. I love this video of "It Must Be Santa" by Bob Dylan. Dylan's wearing a similar wig as he did in his video "Cross the Green Mountain" for the film 'Gods and Generals' as well as when he last performed at the Newport Folk Festival. T
  22. I'm also skipping Phish in Syracuse to see Bruce Springsteen & the E Street band close their "Working on a Dream Tour," perform 'Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.' for the first time and step on and off the stage as the current E Street Band for possibly the final time. I can't wait! Tim
  23. I haven't been on here in a while, but I promised edge that I would post the setlist of this beautifully intimate performance from the legendary Bruce Cockburn. 24. I'm a political junkie and so I went to see President Bill Clinton today. President Clinton spoke for 30 minutes before doing a 24 minute Question and Answer. He spoke on Embracing Our Common Hummanity. But first he mentioned how he had just arrived from Senator Teddy Kennedy's funeral. It was well worth it for me personally to attend. President Clinton is an inspiring figure and an amazing public speaker, I only wish he went on way longer than just under an hour. Peace, Tim
  25. On Friday August 21, 2009 I see the number one musician still living that I have yet to see live. That artist is the Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield and Poco fame. Sure he's the third most important artist in Buffalo Springfield, behind obviously Neil Young and Stephen Stills, yet I have seen Neil and Stephen and I have never seen Richie. Now that Richie is 65 this year and has been for decades a minister in Colorado it is a rare thing for him to be performing live east of the Mississippi River, especially with Poco, whom I'm seeing him with tomorrow. Poco will be opening for Loggins & Messina and as a massive fan of Buffalo Springfield and Poco I am also looking forward to seeing Jim Messina how replaced Bruce Palmer in Springfield for their final LP, 'Last Time Around.' And Jim helped Richie form Poco after Springfield disbanded. I hope that Jim comes out early with Richie and Rusty Young, Paul Cotton and the rest of Poco. I'm skipping Pearl Jam in Toronto for this concert and I have caught a lot of grief for my decision. Yet I have seen PJ 12 times and I'm sure those boys twenty plus years younger than Pastor Richie will be around again, I'm not so sure I will have another opportunity to see Furay so close, even if it seven hours away. I've Got a Feeling. Tim
