  3. Rest in Peace Jim Dickinson, A legendary producer that will never be forgotten. Thinking of Luther, Cody and his family right now. Peace, Tim
  4. I wish I could, but it's not looking good at this time. It looks like my streak of Phish Phestivals is about to end at 5. Peace, Tim
  5. I'm going. Looking forward to seeing the Allman Brothers Band on their 40th Anniversary Tour. Also looking forward to some interplay between Haynes, Trucks and Herring. Peace, Tim PS Here's hoping for "Layla."
  6. Damn I have class that night and I'm already skipping too many classes for gigs this year. Oh well at least I'll be seeing Wilco the first night. Peace, Tim
  7. I missed "Harpua" in 2003 in PA so to finally get it in Upstate NY made the drive well worth while. Also it was great to see Phish play "I've Been Around" which was the last song off of 'Joy' that they had yet to perform live. Now if only I could go to Festival 8. Peace, Tim
  8. Yep, McCartney does a short instrumental version of "Foxey Lady" at the end of "Let Me Roll It." Paul's been doing it since his tour in 2005. Peace, Tim
  9. Rest in Peace to one of the great people who reported history and became a part of history in the process.
  10. My bad, In my rush I didn't write properly who I was in hopes of seeing with Sir Paul McCartney tonight. I ended up getting Billy Joel, which was fitting. I'm tired and tomorrow is a big day of night two at Citi Field and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex so I will just post the setlist now. 11. I just arrived in New York City around 10am today to see Sir Paul McCartney open the Mets new home Citi Field, just as the Beatles did with Shea Stadium back in 1965. I can't wait to see what McCartney decides to play to open the new stadium and if he brings out some special guests? I'm expecting Billy Joel as then McCartney would be returning the favor from last year where Joel closed Shea Stadium with Paul. I'm hoping for Stevie Wonder who's in NYC this weekend for a tribute to Nelson Mandela, and I'm also hoping that Eric Clapton and Neil Young come out and play with Paul. Peace, Tim
  12. Unfortunately I had to work afternoon shift this week. And I would have skipped work as I had in the past to see Jay Bennett with Wilco back in the day and I would have skipped work to see former Bennett bandmates play a tribute conert but not for that line-up. Peace, Tim
  13. Yesterday the influence of Wilco on my life over the past 13 plus years made me smile. This was due to the fact that I bought tickets to two separate shows yesterday for the late summer and fall that both have been touched by the greatness of Wilco. First I got tickets to see Minus 5 for Sunday September 13th at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern. For those of you who do not know Minus 5 is headed by Scott McCaughey and has had Peter Buck of R.E.M. fame in his band since the mid 1990's. In 2003 the Minus 5 released an album titled 'Down with Wilco' which had members of Wilco on it throughout, then Wilco appeared on the 2004 EP 'At the Organ' and again on the 2006 full length 'The Minus 5.' Secondly, I picked up tickets to see Billy Bragg perform at the Phoenix on Tuesday November 17th and at the Studio Theatre on Wednesday November 18th. And most of you all know that Billy Bragg did the Mermaid Avenue albums Vol 1 & 2 with Wilco where they took unreleased lyrics of the late great Woody Guthrie and put them to music. The fact that I bought tickets for both of these acts yesterday both with their Wilco connection made me smile. Now I enjoy both the Minus 5 and Billy Bragg in their own right was definitely helped along with the influence of Wilco. Also the day Wilco's latest 'Wilco (the album)' was released my girlfriend Danielle and myself picked out our new Golden Retriever male puppy and we named it Wilco. I'm getting excited to see Wilco for the 19th time (Jeff Tweedy 23rd) in Lewiston, NY on Sunday July 19th I hope one day I see that band headline their own arena/amphitheatre tour, it would be great if they got as big to play stadiums but one step at a time. God bless Wilco, Tim
  14. Great review AD. It seems that you and I went to many of the same acts at bonnaroo this year. Peace, Tim
  15. That just blew my mind. Neil Young and Paul McCartney have performed together in the past back in 2004 at Neil Young's Bridge School Concerts. Unfortunately I was not able to attend any of these gigs. Peace, Tim
  16. This was by far the best CSN (with no Y) gig I've ever seen. Here's the setlist: CSN Meadow Brook Music Fest SAT JUN 6 2009 Set 1: Start time: 8:06PM 1. Helplessly Hoping 2. You Don't Have to Cry (just CSN from 2-6) 1x 3. Ruby Tuesday (The Rolling Stones- Nash lead vocal) 1x 4. You Can Close Your Eyes (James Taylor- Crosby lead vocal) 1x 5. Reason to Believe (Tim Hardin- all three lead) 1x 6. Girl From the North Country (Bob Dylan- Stills lead vocal) 1x 7. Guinnevere 8. Dream for Him (Stills on bass) 9. In Your Name 1x 10. Lives in the Balance (Jackson Browne- Crosby lead vocal) 1x 11. Our House 12. Uncle John's Band (the Grateful Dead- all three lead) 1x 13. Chicago 14. Southern Cross End time 9:09PM (Set 1 time: 1 hour and 03 minutes) Set II: Start time 9:32PM 15. Rock & Roll Woman (Buffalo Springfield!) 1x 16. Marrakesh Express 17. Military Madness 18. Long Time Gone 19. Deja Vu 20. Bluebird (Buffalo Springfield Again!) 1x 21. Cathedral 22. Wounded World> 23. Rocky Mountain Way (Joe Walsh- Stills lead vocal) 1x 24. Almost Cut My Hair 25. For What it's Worth 26. Wooden Ships Encore: 27. Teach Your Children End time 10:49PM (Set II time: 1 hour and 17 minutes) (Total time 2 hours and 20 minutes) Seeing CSN in 94, 96 & 03 the sets were no more than 1 hour and 40 minutes and 17 songs and the gigs were always one set. The only time I have seen CSNY play longer or more songs is with Neil Young with them where they play around three hour gigs where they play 29 to 31 song setlists. To not only get seven covers heard for the first time from CSN but also 4 originals, including two from Buffalo Springfield was phenomenal. Also their drummer was Joe Vitale, who I have never seen drum before! And it made sense for CSN to cover Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" again since Joe Vitale was a co-writer on the Walsh classic. The band was rounded out with Todd Caldwell on B3, Bob Clark on bass and Croz's son James Raymond on keyboards. And they were all in good vocal form, even Stills for being Stills. I can not wait for the CSN Rick Rubin produced covers album to come out to hear these songs again and I hope they come back around in 2010. Peace, Tim
  17. The first few Wilco gigs I saw were between 1997 and 2000 with Jay Bennett still in the band. Personally still my favorite era of Wilco and likely always will be, it was the time they felt most like a band and that had a lot to do with Jay's contribution to the band. I hope Jay has now found the peace that he struggled to find during his life. Peace and Love, Tim
  18. At this moment I'm currently debating on whether to go and see Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp in Eastlake near Clevelon July 11th which I already have tickets for or whether I should skip this gig to see Paul McCartney in Halifax on the same day? I saw McCartney for the 5th this past March at Radio City Music Hall and I will be seeing Bob Dylan for the 41st time at Rothbury the weekend before July 11th. What to do, what to do? I wish McCartney would just do a full tour so I can go to several shows around the Great Lakes. Peace, Tim
  19. I just got my tickets as well. Thanks for the heads up Kanada Kev Peace, Tim

  21. Nope I just spend every extra penny I have on gigs. Peace, Tim
  22. One will come, I've been back to work this week and haven't had the opportunity. There were over 60 acts that paid tribute to Pete Seeger and a lot of the night was this artist with that artist or artists. I haven't even finalized the setlist yet. Peace, Tim
  23. I'll be at the ACC seeing Bruce and the boys and girls playing tonight. On Sunday I was in NYC for Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday Party at MSG where the Boss was the last act before the grand finale. Bruce played "The Ghost of Tom Joad" with Tom Morrello and then was out for "This Land is Your Land," "Happy Birthday," "When the Saints Go Marching in" (Instrumental), "Well May the World Go," "This Little Light of Mine" and "Goodnight Irene." It was a beautiful night in tribute to one of the greatest human beings to have ever walked the earth. Peace, Tim
  24. Sweet, that just made the gig nearly twice as good. I love Conor Oberst and look forward to seeing him again. Peace, Tim
