    Meatball Recipes?

Oh no, she used meat in hers haha I make them with lentils. I cook lentils till they are mushy, add bread crumbs, garlic, basil, cayenne and whatever else I feel like (sometimes spinach) and bake them in the oven. They are pretty tasty.
  2. I heard the local now call it TamaGringo... people are building big houses all over that part. When are you going? Will it be the rainy season?
  3. Wow, good luck. I know a few people who have been to Uganda...I hear Kampala is amazing. How long will you be there for?

    Meatball Recipes?

My mom would make them with some bread crumbs, onions, and an egg...bake them on a baking sheet, then put them in a casserole dish and bake them in a sweet and sour sauce....ketchup, vinegar and brown sugar. I'm not sure the amounts, but just tasting it you can figure it out.
  5. It doesn't matter where you go, Costa Rica is Awesome. I mostly stayed in a small town called Samara. Gentlemonkey suggested it to us. It's on the Pacific. I didn't want to deal with San Jose so we flew into Libiria. I will post some pics later today when I have a sec.

I hear the first building that's going up is a MacDonald's.
  7. Are these bbq people from Canada or the States?
  8. I've been a bunch of times and love it. The water is great. They provide the wood but no kindling. I would camp around the bay...if you look at the map...I think #7 is sweet. Each spot has 3 sites to camp, but it's pretty private...drinking is illegal in Gatineau Park...but everyone does, just bring cans. You need to bring all your garbage back with you and the raccoons are evil. There are metal posts to hang your garbage up at night...use it. If you have an old backpack, I would line it with a garbage bag and use that for food stuff. There are rocks you can jump off of...I love it there. You'll have a blast.
  9. I've been reading this thread, coming from a small town in northern ontario, drinking and driving is common and every year young kids die. I've known people who died or who suffered brain damage, people who have killed people (most of the time, friends of theirs in their cars) and a cousin who was hit and died. Every year I knew someone who was involved in a drinking and driving accident. I was just talking to my sister and she told me that an older (30 +) was at a grad party (field parties), she left drunk and hit two kids, one is dead, the other will lose her arm. I think that if you kill someone driving drunk, you lose your right to drive for the rest of your life. If someone is driving drunk and gets caught, mandatory jail time. The laws need to be harsh. Man, it's so sad and frustrating.
  10. My friend used to teach muy thai here in Ottawa (where Venue Envy was.) Thai kickboxing rocks. I used to box, regular boxing though, and loved it...retired undefeated.
  11. So Meggo, whats the name? I keep hoping that you'll be outside when I walk by almost everyday. I wanna see her.
  12. We are! I'm most excited about the trip there, we are taking 10-14 days to drive. I've been going through some nostalgic days....I will miss Ontario and Quebec. But, in 2 months, I'll be surfing everyday!
  13. I can see that being the case for a puppy, but dogs that I know, if they crap in the house, they are hidding when you get home. My cat is the same way, if she knocks over a plant, she is under the bed when I get home.
  14. Woohoo....I will be working half days teaching french!
  15. My dad is far from Ottawa...I called him and he talked to me about mutual funds, his truck and new trailer and going camping in July.

  17. It's not that there are safe and unsafe areas, all it takes is one bad apple to make it unsafe. Sucks when it's close to home though, sorry about that!

  21. I generally love wine alone, but have been thinking about sangrias. Some are sweet, some sour. Some strong tasting, some light. What makes the difference? Does it matter if I buy good wine, or cheaper wine? What kind of juice? Anyone?
