If you stick around Czechoski for the midnight set, you won't be disappointed with Terra Lightfoot! The other three Huron guys who aren't me are in her backing band. Her songs rule. She did her record with Dale Morningstar at the Gas Station and it'll come out...soonish. She's not your typical girly singer - she means business.

Sounds like you're on the trail there bouche. Try it with a shitty record lest the experiment backfire and that quarter grinds a scratch into your favourite Hooked On Classics LP. What's the make and model of the table?

Could also be an arm balance issue if it's skipping around. Try taping a quarter to the top of the cartridge and see if that works - not a permanent solution but if it works you know you need to adjust your balance. This is really a question for kookycanooky. Somebody send out the bat signal.

Just got a look at the tentative tourdates, looks like we're coming to Ottawa (among some others). Will post em when they're firm.

I find that they're not big on long-term announcements because I think they play pretty often...if you join their facebook page you'll get announcements during the week if they're playing on an upcoming weekend...they tend to play the Dakota and the Piston a lot I think.

I've seen them and know the bass player. They are a great, great, cover band, if you're into all the Motown/Stax/other early funk/soul you can handle. My only complaint is there's only a single horn player. But the vocalist kills, rhythm section is airtight and deep-pocketed, and they always bring a big-time party. Was close to hiring them to play my wedding. Go check'em out if that's what you're looking for!

As we were being paid at the end of the night, the promoter told me that there were people turned away, so sorry to hear you were among them Velvet and phorbesie! Huge bummer. Sweet that you skated to the show though...as we were pulling into town we mused aloud that people must skate to work regularly, am I right? Thanks so much to everybody that made it. Ottawa is still probably the town in which we have the best shows. Hamilton last night was great but not sure if it beat Ottawa. rubberdinghy I knew I recognized you when I saw you at Call the Office, but wasn't sure from where and only found out the next day that it was you...I was like, Adam, why didn't you introduce me?? Anyway, next time.

Pretty sure we're gonna be on first tonight. So officially that's 10:30. If it stretches to 11 it'll be 11 on the nose and only cause you louts didn't show up on time. In London I think we're last scottie, but I'm not 100%. The club is billing it that way.
