Buffalo Brass Machine The Buffalo Brass Machine is an eight-member horn collective playing the likes of street brass, hip-hop, pop, and everything in-between. The band was formed in late 2015 by a group of University at Buffalo students gathered from across the state with the primary goal: to create and entertain. The band rapidly became a fan favorite throughout New York State, playing at venues such as Mohawk Place, Buffalo Iron Works, Canalside, and First Night Saratoga. December 2016 brings the band’s first EP and music video to the public, as well as a headlining date in Rochester and the band’s first foray into the Great White North with a show in Toronto. DJ Hemingway Hemingway makes beats, hordes records and plays keys for Toronto's live disco experience Tush. With a penchant for rare grooves, embellished chords and cosmic sounds, his DJ sets are eclectic and always funky. Well friends I have been to more than a few Phish shows in my However nothing could have prepared me for Fisman crooning a parody version of `Jennifer Dance`s`in cheezy smutlz styke. Priceseless. Not many band can/will regonizitze thier own missteps and even fewer can have the humility it laugh it off. I literally laughed so hard I cried, Refreshing that those things can still happen on a Sunday night in Maryland.

It also really sucks for the musicians. Here is what is really happening. 1. Youtube has unintentionally become the the most used music streaming site int he world. It was never designed for that purpose. 2. Youtube eventually realizes this and is looking for a way to make real money of subscription services as Apple is on the cusp or rolling out a streaming service and Spotify is already occupying a lot of the market share. 3. Google is offeri9ng rates of 65% of what Spotify and Rdio pay out, and those companies already play offensively low rates. 4. The Major labels in fear of this becoeming another napster (missed opportunity) are too eager to jump on the band wagon. The Majors have already signed on at a slightly better but still low rate per stream. They have the capital to do so and are desperate. 5. Indies are now squeezed out unless they play ball for the same rates, but likely lower the majors and the bar is then set. Result: A precidetn will be set and other streaming serfvices like Spotify, Rdio, Rhapsody, Pandora will eventually pay the same as Youtube is the biggest and they are paying rock bottom. In the end musicians, publishers, songwriters and ironically the major labels will get majorly exploited and screwed over. I hope they run themselves into the ground and everyone jumps ship to vimeo. Sad.

Agreed. I was at the show and while it is always a good time seeing Phish the magic wasn't there. Just a decent show. Can't complain though, they normally blow my mind.

Wish I coudl have gone to this. Looks liek the fest I've been waiting for to replace Bonnaroo which has gone waaay too indie hipster for my liking. Problem is that is the worst weekend possible. Right after the labour day weekend and I'm back teaching. Sux, but looks great.

Baldwin County Coroner Stan Zinson says Payne died at 5:12 a.m. Saturday at a hospital from cardiac problems. He says Payne got up early in his house in Stapleton, Ala., feeling ill, and his wife called an ambulance. He says Payne had a long history of cardiac problems. According to a 2011 profile in The Mobile Press-Register, Payne toured with Nelson from 1973 to 2008. He retired to Stapleton, with his wife Vicki. There he continued playing music, teaching the guitar at a local music store. A post on Willie’s Nelson’s Facebook page about Payne’s death said, “Our friend will be missed.â€

Too bad. He was a true great American songwriter and a unique guitar player. always wanted to see him live. R.I.P.
