  1. Even though having Metalica as headliner is very hard to take given they suck extreamly hard these days and were a very negative band in their prime.. Still having the following bands in one place for one price is tempting: Little Feat Phil Lesh DSO Phil Lesh w/Larry Campbell acoustic (that'll kill!) D.S.O B.B. King Israel Vibration Gogol Bordello Umphrey's McGee Levon Helm ....however the fact the Kanye West is on the bill makes it a no go. I hate that guy, so arrogant and so full of himself. Great producer but a total baby! I won't support that... Also as someone already said some of the bands are great, but really you could see them closer to home and in a more focused environment that is not so sweltering hot. So basically unless they unleash some huge headliner ti's not worth it for me.... Bonnaroo is loosing it's vitality and focus by the year. For my money Langerdao has it beat by far.
  2. Hey fellow Smooth music lovers...after more than a year and change the Yacht Rock gang are back and boy is this episode worth the wait... Check it:
  3. Can't wait to be back in "la belle provance!" gonna eat me some bagles! :content:
  4. If faith based schools failed as an initiative why do race based shcools get the OK?!! the whole thing is ludacris. I agree they need to address the problem of black kids dropping out but within an inclusive framework not an exclusive one. And yes I know that white kids can got to these "afro-centric" schools. Btu in reality non will and pretty soon Scarborough will become "Scarlem" for real. Is it 2008? Feels like 1958.
  5. They should have just retooled the existing curriculum to be more diverse and be more representative of the school population. What the board has done is a complete blunder made to placate a community. Brutal!
  6. So I just heard on the radio that the Toronto district school board voted 9-11 to allow black focused schools and give them funding! This is insane and huge step backwards in my opinion. Not only has the board planted the seed of segregation and further division in the community, but they have opened an impeding flood gate for every other ethnic group to demand their own separate schools and funding. They have set a precedent that is a ticking time bomb. I am shocked to see this go through.... What do you think?

What I have heard of them is quite good and tasteful. I should get more of their music.
  8. <<<>>> Yarrrrr! :susel:
  9. I agree. I saw this at the bloor cinema a month or so back and I almost dies laughing. Really well done. Also any movie that has this guys in it is killer.... meet
  10. I have to agree. Keller Williams while he has a niche is a little mundane and balless at times. Very whitebread. He doesn't light my fire in the slightest.
  11. Bill Frissell is also playing in Buffalo at the Tralf in a month or so.
  12. Yeah Out-to-lucnh certainly do have that "Acid Jazz" sound and are similar in some ways tothe Greyboy Allstars.
  13. I agree we haven't had a solid catcher in quite a while. We need a modern day Ernie Whitt, a catcher with clutch hitting and vetran leadership.
  14. I feel your pain I waited to long and missed out on getting tickets. It is also all-ages which may be why they sold out so soon. P.S. George Clinton is playing the Phoenix on Mon.Feb24th too...
  15. Wow, no way . I didn't see that coming, congrats Erin. All the best. :content:
  16. -Guyute (was good until they played it to death in 97/98) -Friday (Most boring chord changes ever) -Character 0 (Overplayed as a set closer) -Limb by Limb -Round Room -Taste -Bouncing around the room -Jennifer Dances -Foam -Tela P.S. Water in the sky was a very nice ballad until they changed the arrangement to a more up tempo country song in '98. Pre '98 Water in the Sky's are very good actually.
  17. You are both nuts. Look I was like you and thought that Rush was questionable. But I saw them at the ACC this fall and I was made a believer. Amazing show and killer musicians. Great show.
  18. Liberty is killer! Sunrise is best left unplayed as is "I will take you home" and "Wave to the Wind", "Childhood's end" is borderline too.
  19. I was taken to these shows when I was 13 and 16 respectively by my brother who is ten years older than me and I am so glad he did. They were my first Dead shows and opened up my whole world. The Scarlet Fire from '90 I think it was was the best!
  20. I think Out-to-lunch have a killer jazz/funk sound with the free improv angle of MMW. I am excited to be on the bill with them in Toronto and Montreal. gonna be sweet.
  21. I dunno, seems like they are trading one injury prone third baseman for another and Glaus had more power in his bat. Although Rolan is better with the glove. We'll see. [color:purple]Either way neither of them is Rance Mullenicks or anything. :content:
  22. In the Jimmy Buffett song "the Weather is here I wish you were beautiful" he sings..."the beer is too cold, the daiquiri's too fruitiful.." There is no such word as fruitiful. I love Buffett...genius!
  23. You know it's a recession when gold is steadily going up. That means world investors are scared and looking to cling to something stable and of value, which also means they are dumping the US greenback. Burn baby burn like a disco inferno.
  24. You'd think if it was fake they could have come up with a better line up.
