  1. I'd recommend checking out the Jakob Bro Trio on June 25th if you get the chance. Joey Baron is an amazing drummer! He has collaborated a lot with John Zorn.

Check out the live album Bay of Rainbows on Spotify to give them a go - I think many of youz would like it.

  2. Saw Doug Paisley last night at Quai Des Brumes in Montreal. Wonderful mellow show by an outstanding musician. It was him and his long time collaborator Chuck Erlichman, vocals and two acoustic guitars. Jenny Whiteley and Joey Wright opened -- not sure if that's the case in Ottawa or not. Either way, highly recommended.

  3. July 24 – Toronto, ON – REBEL

This summer, moe. and Blues Traveler will join forces for the “All Roads Runaround Tour,” hitting 21 cities from mid-July to mid-August.

The outing will be presented by Sirius XM’s JamOn, and each evening will feature a moe. set, a Blues Traveler set and a third, collaborative set featuring both bands. Fans got a taste of that collaboration at moe.’s recent Beacon Theatre show, when Blues Traveler frontman John Popper sat in for three moe. originals.

The tour will kick off on July 11 in Farmingville, NY, and make stops in major markets like Boston, Nashville and Atlanta before closing out on Aug. 11 in Austin, TX. Additional support for the All Roads Runaround Tour will be provided by G. Love.

General on-sale for the outing will begin Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation. A Citi cardholder pre-sale will stretch from Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. local time to Thursday, Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. local time. VIP packages will also be available at point of purchase.

  4. The guys is a prolific songwriter, not all of it is gold, but I like how his music has progressed in recent years. I thought Prisoner was a great album. Both Prisoner and the b-sides album have a handful of beautifully crafted songs that I love. I'm not crazy about the new song with John Mayer on it, but the Mayer solo is nice. Curious to see what comes of the Bobby stuff!

after getting my verified fan email, and not knowing there was a "queue", I logged on 5 minutes before sale time, and was put in a queue with 2000+ people.

    awesome.

at 8 minutes after 11 they let me in a showed a bunch of "blue seats" in 100's and 200's.

of course five times I selected pairs, they would already be taken.

finally I selected a few higher up in 304 (row J if I recall) and scored two.

This was about the same as my experience, except I got lucky and ended up with a pair at the back of 201 right beside Kuroda.

It was a bit chaotic, but worked out well and I have little in the way of complaints about my experience. Sucks that some of us here had a tough go of it. Better than the older model though. Almost everyone I know got pavillions - that's a first.

  6. Well put Booche!

I think the waitlist thing was a surprise for anyone who got that email. BUT, last night around Midnight I got text messages with my access code, and at about 4 AM got a second email saying "you've been selected". So now I'm a Verified Fan too. From the looks of things on Twitter many others have been going through the same process. Good luck to all for decent good seats.

  7. Marc Ribot is coming to Toronto and Peterborough. Hope he adds a Montreal date!

Ribot's legacy has seen him collaborate with Tom Waits, John Zorn, Elvis Costello & a plethora of others. His numerous diverse bands and ensemble projects, plus seven solo releases have worked to define him as one of the most unique and versatile voices on the guitar. From no wave, re-imagined blues, free improvisation, and avant jazz to contemporary composition Ribot moves from one mood to another with careful continuity. Intricate notes float off his strings with a natural abandon. His solo performances see him swim through the menagerie style and genres he's touched on through out his decades of exploration in the avant guitar world.

  8. Yes!! Toronto!

It's been a couple years since I bought Phish tickets. Does anyone even bother with PTBM any more? I've been screwed (i..e. getting stuck with lawns that I don't want) so many times, that I assume no one bothers.  Unless they want lawns.

  9. Just noticed on the Cameron House website that Kevin Breit and David Baxter will be playing:

    Thurs Nov 8 @ 6 PM
    Thurs Nov 15 @ 6 PM

Also, Kevin mentioned from the stage last week at the Sisters Euclid show that there will be another Johnny Goldtooth show in Toronto sometime in early December.
