  1. I'll be the first naysayer... It's a great original beer idea but Lug Tread has an odd sweet finish that I don't prefer. That said, I loved it the first time I had it, had about 4 in a row and it kept me looking out for it at the LC for a few months until their s.o. distribution was sorted out (now it's also at the Brain and the Ship in Hamilton). It's a very different kind of beer, that's for sure.
  2. Czechoski's was such a huge fail on saturday. . re: terra lightfoot The restaurant looks cool and the guy running the show was awesome, but the room was terrible! So narrow to begin with and the restaurant doesn't move the tables that are squashed right up to the stage, which at the time happened to be filled with drunk d-bags who talked the whole time and heckled the band. Anyone who gave a shit was stuck 20 feet back closer to the bar in the front room. /rant. good CMW aside from that nonsense!
  3. Sigh, I gotta miss this. Sigh, I'm sad to admit I know this, but both vents are still in place. I don't think they actually use the vents (I believe they're heaters) very often. I've placed my H4 right up on them with no issue. Having tried both, I'd definitely stick with the rear vent, farther from the stage. (Brad I need that bloomers first song! please!!)
  4. Note the headline on the bottom of the screen for the first 25sec of Goodmorning america...
  5. was Alan Wilson the Son House/Canned Heat connection?
  6. heard it today, got unnecessarily angry at the censor, and then changed stations shortly after because the song is far too long haha UHF for life
  7. huh....kinda makes me want to light up.
  8. "He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man." Dr. Johnson
  9. ...cool, I always thought it was jerry playing the noodle line
  10. Yes, there will be fees...sometimes. When a product is worth more than $60 you start to get duty charges...but I've had many worth over $100 which never got nicked. In my experience, stay away from UPS like the plague, they seem to always charge brokerage that is really insane...like $65 on a package declared at $120. Haven't used fedEx in a while...I make a point of always using USPS whenever possible.
  11. BE the birthday...not sure what that means but I hope it was a good one! Cheers!
  12. This band is awesome. I had to stop side one and start it over because it was breaking my brain with its awesomeness. Its psychedelic....starts off mellow and grows into a furious animal beast. Then side 2 starts... Don't miss these guys next time they come 'round. http://www.sendspace.com/file/swpttg
  13. Not so - those technics are mostly direct drive - more so for djing. Dual is a quite well respected brand and these tables exhibit some excellent german engineering, especially these belt-drive tables with neat-o tone arm systems. That said, I just bought a similar Dual table for $40 which needed some minor work. Do you know what kind of cartridge is installed? If I were selling this I would definitely try kijiji/craigs and ebay as a last resort. It will sell...put it up for $60-80. The type/condition of the cartridge/stylus may influence the price though... hope that helps A!
  14. My deepest sympathies, I'm very sorry to hear the sad news, Brian.
  15. Cleared out for YR? this disappoints me. We had a pretty good show in moncton on sat, though I wish we could have stayed for the weekend. Halifax for mayor.
  16. ditto. I thought last year was so good that I wouldn't have been able to top it. I've made a terrible mistake.
  17. Nice to see this, I thought last year was the end of WI.
  18. I should totally make a similar pic to explain my frustration with hamilton drivers; Twin left turn lanes from one way to one way streets, a**wipes consistently ignore common logic of turning from curb lane into curb lane. Specifically but not limited to Bay/King these people think it is ok to start in the curb lane but end up 1, 2 or even 3 lanes over by the end the turn. ARRRRRRRRRRRG. /rant.
  19. they're sweet, I mixed them at the Ship in Hamliton. in the afternoon they taped a song in my living room for southernsouls.ca keep an eye out for it soon
  20. I played with Julie Fader last year...a truly unique experience out there. Mind you I wasn't on the phish train last summer but it was hands down my best weekend of 2009. In addition to the main stage there were late night bands playing at Doolys (where BA crowd surfed in an inflatable raft), a sweet church and a single screen movie theater. Hope to be there again!
