  1. I happen to have a crush on Rob with his northern roots, dog loving and big red beard.
  2. The show at the Garrison tonight was advertised earlier this week on there face book page. It confirms Danielle as well as Taylor Knox and the Main Sail. I'm wondering if there going to play Coat of Arms straight threw like the NXNE set? I've been wanting to buy the album on vinyl at a show because it makes having it a bit more special but i'm going to have to sit this one out. I hope someone shakes there hips and rocks out to Burst for me...
  3. This thread reminds me I still have to buy tickets for the Toronto island show. August 14th. Are any of you cats planning on going? I also wish I had a credit card only so I could buy this as well as other albums on vinyl.

    Junk Raiders

I opened this thread hoping it was about yard sales. If I watched TV I would definitely check out this show! Best of luck!
  5. They are playing tonight in Toronto. So yes, tonight.
  6. I know eh? I mean a free ticket? No one?
  7. Well, I have a Hold Steady ticket for tonight's show and a previous engagement. I have offered it to multiple friends and no ones interested. I really don't want it to go to waste. Does anyone on the board want to go? You just have to pick it up. You can message me here and we can work out details.

Is that a little border collie puppy? She is adorable and a half! And great choice for a breed if so. Smart, loyal and full of energy! Congrats!
  10. May your day be filled with whatever makes you happiest! Happy Birthday!
  11. I have red hair. Like all Gingers it's been my nick name along with Rouge since I was a kid.
  12. I totally agree with everything you're saying. Not travel worthy maybe if you were in the west, probably definitely if you were in the west and your taste skewed to hardcore, ska, sweaty danceparty bands. Basically what I figured on the programming costs. The economies of scale and being in a major American centre make it alot more cost effective to program bands adventurously.
  13. Does this not sound like the sickest thing ever, to y'all. A converted textile mill with 19 galleries and Wilco doing up guitar pedal and silkscreen poster demos.
  14. I've been on cloud 9 all day. I've literally been waiting for this show since the tickets went on sale a few months ago. I'm hoping that we hear some songs off the earlier albums and not just Ruminant Band. The Earthquake of 73 being one of them! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
  15. This whole thread is mysoginistic, self-segregating, stigmatizing, discriminatory and I'm still pretty sure there's some secret whale song noise the audience collectively makes together if a heterosexual male tries to pick one of them up.
  16. Is it April 10th yet? It's been years since I saw The Slip and never saw the boys as the Barr Brothers. I hear Miss Sarah Page is amazing. I'm really looking forward to this.
  17. I'm definitely going to the Collett w Zues show tomorrow night. Hope to see some of you there!
  18. I want to say in advance that this was my first time seeing Kevin Breit and the Sisters and also my first time seeing a show at the Rivoli. Nice venue. There was a small crowd in attendance which seemed to clear during set break. I was impressed through and through. Kevin's playful banter (complete with some bum shaking and suggestive comments) with the audience was a huge highlight as well as multiple big soulful guitar riffs. The boys were on, loud and definitely had everyone's undivided attention. I think there playing style almost demands it. I appreciated the explosive funk and jazz sounds and even got a little choked up when they started playing Hank Williams I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Finishing up there second set Kevin was asked to belly dance and they ended up playing an Indian inspired riff encouraging a crowd of 4 to dance for him with a wonderful, comedic display of hip shaking and arm twisting. A fun filled night all round. Thanks Jay!
  19. I'm definitely interested in the Buddy Guy show in April. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. a) is it wrong to see a bi-racial people and wonder what race(s) they are? I don't think so. Humans are curious by nature. why do chicks travel in packs? Both sexes travel in packs. The more the merrier. c) chocolate and oranges are clearly the two best foods ever. what's third? I'm trying to think of a food that you could eat with both chocolate and oranges. Maybe strawberries? Fondue? d) should i patch the small hole on the top of my winter boot or buy new ones? I think you should patch said hole but also buy a new pair. Variety, variety, variety. e) what was your best holiday gift this year? A very very comfortable pillow to rest my weary eyes on every night.
  21. This ones pretty awesome! "chuleta says no one is going to play joanna fucking newsom on her turntable and she will cancel the goddamn book club meeting if she has to." Who's got a chap cap, aviators and a plaid scarf I can borrow for Arlo?
  22. Is it March yet? In and In...
