will you be dressed in black?
  2. hey, its never too late to joke about stolen property!
  3. ive always been of the mindset that its better to spend money on a better lens and on a brand name known for photography than to spend on bells and whistles. now, how to apply that approach given the hundreds of cameras out there, that's the issue. ive had a small kodak digicam for years now and am still going strong with well over 25,000 pics taken. the only thing i'd have liked is if it took better low light pics, and if it was faster between shots (I have to wait sometimes). i also find the dock invaluable.
  4. ben & jerry's at the corner of haight and ashbury. grab a cone and walk up to the park. (and bring some extra shoes to toss overtop the wires on the corner.) lombard street, up near the wharf. the wharf, including the aquarium. that dude who hides behind his bush. the bart to berkely (... shake shake shake... being underneath the bay is frighteningly cool) muir woods in morin county (across the GG Bridge) and of course, the castro. pete will love all the gaybars. the cowboys there love canadian men
  5. of course its not realistic to ban cars in our society. (my question was rhetorical) ... ok, so then we are stuck with cars for now. again, I ask, what's wrong with moving towards hybrids or other more fuel efficient vehicles? if we are stuck having to drive, isn't it better that we drive something that's less harmful than something that's more harmful? do you really think it's too late?
  6. Sorry Jaimoe, I simply cannot share your defeatist attitude. So, what would you do? Ban cars altogether? And how would you realistically sell that plan?
  7. tad cynical, Jaimoe? i'm seeing a lot of those little smart cars whipping around town. and im noticing more and more hybrids in the parkng lots at work. incremental steps, no doubt, but I think we are generally moving in the right direction.
  8. sigh ... seems the only way to reduce your carbon footprint is to cut off your feet.
  9. someone seems a little uncomfortable with their sexuality[color:gray], hamilton. accept it. embrace it. you will begin to live life like it's meant to be for you. this is a very positive first step. congrats.
  10. another movie set on campus today. the guy said it's a feature film starring mark wahlberg. ladies, here's your chance to see that third nipple. this aint american pie, its something else. "back to something" or "something to back". (I got dizzy when he mentioned marky mark and cant recall any details, sorry)
  11. no, but Peewee has a basket and it led to his downfall ...
  12. we have not but a number of our neighbours have. my understanding is that it essentially adds about 10% to 15% more onto your bill for your kilowatt usage. all of the fixed fees remain unchanged, but you pay a little bit more for what you use. last year during the election, i visited with a neighbour who's on bullfrog and had the green candidate over for the evening. he explained that it would cost the average homeowner about $300 to $400 more per year, but that you somehow are able to claim back about half of that. I didnt quite understand it. (i think i really had to pee and just wanted to leave.)
  13. oh, nevermind, i thought "mainly" said "manly". still, sucks. hey, there it is! let's get him! come back thief! ... huff huff huff ... hey man, look, a puppy.
  14. sorry to hear this. sucks. insured? btw, how can an orange bike be manly?
  15. We used Kim McKenzie of Royal City Realty in Guelph a few years ago to buy. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Class act and a great person to deal with. Neither Kim nor the office overall specialize in listings in Cambridge but they do have a few. Worth giving the office a call perhaps.
  16. maybe if Roughhouse Roy took over in Denver, the team could change their name to the Foothill Felons. Go Nordiques!
  17. on what are you basing this? ive worked with the research arm of the Canadian Cancer Society - the National Cancer Institute of Canada - and can attest that a great deal more than 2% of its research budget goes towards studies which examine areas of cancer prevention and natural medicine. In fact, researchers at the Centre for Behavioural Research and Program Evaluation at the University of Waterloo (funded in part by the CCS) are actively involved in exploring complementary and alternative medicine in cancer prevention and treatment, as are dozen of other funded researchers across Canada. Moreover, a great deal of the CCS's public promotions programs specifically target healthy lifestyle choices, including risk reduction and healthy eating. It's not all profit-driven clinical trials as you seem to suggest. You can also thank the CCS and the Canadian Lung Association for the fact that public smoking has been largely banned across the country. No small feat, and a battle that was waged for more than 3 decades. where are you getting your information, OTJ? You are not giving fair credit to the very good work being done by these researchers. your sources seem to be not only biased but just plain wrong.
  18. go out and enjoy! it's very quiet in guelph. like a quiet before the storm
