  1. oh right - dima! i've never seen tiesto [and actually i've never even heard of lawler!] but i'm jonesing for a fun electro-show. and i'm sure they do it up right in montreal!
  2. best of luck to you newrider!
  3. heh, okey doke. homo-/fag-trance is, obviously, a perfectly appropriate term.
  4. heh, i was waiting for you to pipe in, hux!

    leprechaun!

i love the 'amateur sketch'.... ! eeee!
  6. 'pray tell'... "..makes a group of sweaty men take their shirts off in the middle of the dance floor start massaging each other"" i have seen shirtless sweaty men of all sexual orientations at all kinds of shows. i've also seen a lot of sweaty women of all sexual orientations at all kinds of shows [much less of them were shirtless, admittedly]. so i don't think it's just the 'homos' that are participating [and i'm pretty sure that this is an effect of a certain drug...]. "...sometimes followed by full on gay orgies on the dancefloor/washroom" now THIS... this is interesting. personally i have to say, of all the sweaty shows i've been to i haven't seen a gay orgy on a dancefloor or in a washroom. but i'll take your word for it that it happens, and frequently. so, it's the trance music that makes them do this? and it only affects the gay people in the crowd? because i'm sure i have seen hetero couples doing everything but [again, not orgies, i admit]. so could we also call it hetero-trance? or hetero-music? or people on drugs getting it on? added: all this to say, simply, maybe we can all choose our words carefully, myself included. i hear comments like this so often, and despite the fact that maybe 'your gay friend doesn't care if you say it', or it's supposed to be funny and i shouldn't take it so seriously... there are lots of people out there who are hurt by it. that's all.
  7. well. that makes everything perfectly clear. [fucking lame excuse to use the word 'homo']

    Sweet Potatoes

dj have you been to ferris' oyster bar in vic? their sweet potato fries and mayo are soooooooo good.
  9. hmmm... i'm still confused. i can find acid, electro, euro, goa, hard, hardcore, progressive, psychedelic, tribal, uplifting, and vocal trance. no 'homo' trance. how does one define such music, aside from just telling me which DJs play it?
  10. i like some electronic music. homo trance is one i haven't heard of. can you explain? i even tried wikipedia and i am stumped!
  11. shuffle eek! i had to go and open my big mouth... so to speak. but, i think you're right. no matter who it is, they're probably just going to be more or less a mouthpiece for harper. i thought it was cute in the article, rona apparently said she was excited to be getting a new job. i'm sure she can't wait to ditch that portfolio.
  12. i don't think there are any surprises here - i have to say i hope they don't put john baird in rona's portfolio. for some reason that makes me uneasy... story from cbc.ca

  15. czech is da bomb!!!! [yes i just said that] went to see him a few times when i was living in vic. definitely a character, i wish TO was closer! PS - i assume this show is in TO? i didn't notice a venue.
  16. heh! my first one was short and sweet [actually short and bland], from feb. 26, 2002. i was in uni and writing a paper for my music class about phish and the GD... ahh, i'm such a dork. backbacon posted my survey questions on the board and that's how i found out about phish sanctuary! just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me out by doing that survey and sending it back. if somebody tells me how to do it i'll try posting my paper so you can see the results, if you're interested (some people were). thanks again, meggo
  17. have fun y'all!! i'll be thinking of you when i wake up tomorrow and know that the party rages on in ottawa...

  21. well i don't know what to make of that [TLLOM] - but, from what i see here, marcel certainly does live on through all these great memories and stories that his loved ones have been sharing. he doesn't need any ticket for that.
