  1. so d_rawk and i got a new puppy last night. she is really, really cute. part pug, part pomeranian. we liked the name 'banjo' and 'nena' [pronounced neh-na]... but we're not sure about either of them. i remember when mike and sharon got abbey everyone was very helpful! so i'll post a few pics and see what comes to mind. i'll add a few more pictures when i get them uploaded [i like to show her off ].
  2. same as gateaux... i've had primus [initially magma] internet since i moved to ottawa and the service has generally been great. they even called us to tell us to stop downloading from somewhere b/c we were going to get in trouble from the site. we decided to switch our phone over when we moved in march and THAT was a goddamn nightmare. and i am not exaggerating. it was a good month until everything was working and normal. now everything is fine but, lordy.

    hope everything is okay trev!
  4. i am happy to see sean paul and snoop! didn't you see him do 'milf-weed' on weeds? it was great!
  5. funny!!! [meggo is pretty self-explaining i think [meghan] - and also much preferred to several childhood nicknames!]
  6. go go go to the horseshoe and support our boys! they are actually good.
  7. you could also try etsy.com ... probably some canadians on there.
  8. d_jango used to make the odd home-brew from time to time. he uses molasses and it makes the apartment smell really crazy.
  9. does anyone know of a place to find decent jazz in this town? i know avante garde sometimes has jazz but besides that i'm kind of clueless. my sister is in town and i'm trying to find something for us to do tonight.
  10. i think we are in! although that may have just jinxed it.
  11. happy day eric! you make good mix cds.
  12. i'm teaching history this semester for the first time, and i think it would be fun to incorporate music where possible. we're just starting the 1920s, so far i've come across bessie smith, george gershwin and duke ellington [these are the ones that i recognize]. any suggestions? it is a canadian history course but i imagine american music is relevant.

    Nickleback News

hahah... i was having a conversation this morning about how fun i thought the george michael concert would be. isn't he coming to ottawa??? PS i hate nickelback too. and 'raine maida' from our lady peace - i heard somewhere that his name was mike. so i'm sure it's true.
  14. agreed ms_z... i would even venture that most of jeff buckley's songs are best left alone. too cocky?
  15. is it just the lights that have to be turned off? are we allowed to watch teevee?
  16. fair enough DB! i haven't been out east ever but i would really like to go. i spent 5 years in victoria and i just loved the beauty. sorry if that sounds too tree-huggy but it's true. tons of ocean and mountains, beach, you are never far from a nice hike, and the weather is such that you can enjoy all of them almost all year. also, do some exploring up on the juan de fuca trail if you like outdoorsy things, there are some great spots. i'm definitely not saying you'll prefer it to the east, but i'm sure you will like the city. steamer's often has some decent music playing and i also liked 'lucky', it had a real wide variety of music. however it's true that not a lot of bands make it there. vancouver gets tons of great shows but you have to really want to go, because it's quite a commitment time-wise. anyway - i look forward to getting an update once you're settled.
  17. just be happy you're moving to vic! i loooooved living there.
