  2. Just a couple guys from the Appalachian Mountains, phot taken by Shelby Lee Adams. http://shelby-lee-adams.blogspot.com/ He takes these great (in my opinion) photos of people living in Appalachia, theres some pretty intense shots some of which have caused some controversy for people who feel he is exploiting or poking fun at the people he's portraying. Oddly enough, none those people live in the Appalachian mountians or ever have, unlike Adams who grew up there.

  5. Sure baj, I'll sendspace it for ya. Its a sweet show, these gals sure know how to play. Here's another track from that show. A traditional bluegrass tune Ralph Stanely sang for the soundtrack to "O' Brother Where Art Thou?". Stairwell Sisters - Oh Death Blows me away how great they sound.
  6. Here's a really beautiful old-time bluegrassy version (and great recording) of Bob Dylan's 'Buckets Of Rain' I found while surfing some FTP servers I still frequent. I used my googlepage for this one, so anyone interested can stream it or save it. Stairwell Sisters - Buckets Of Rain [color:red]Note on the recording: None of the instruments and vocals are amplified, the taper did an awesome job of capturing this performace (the entire show is great).

  13. This might be helpful to some folks. I used the "Find On This Page" option in windows (Edit > Find) and searched the first page for "gun", which turned up no results. And if the word is one that is commonly used you can also click "find next" to continue searching.
  14. Drive-By Truckers The Underground Hamilton, Ontario, Canada October 17, 2006
  15. I don't know how things work in Ottawa but a good friend of mine here in Hamilton is a bagpiper (for hire also) and he will hit the streets once in awhile (full dress). I'm pretty sure he's had to get a busking permit to do so.

  18. Dave, I feel your pain buddy. I have dealt with messed up sleeping for quite some time now. I've tried meds in the past and they worked great I slept a ton, until I ran out. My sleep issues are no doubt totally different then yours so I can't say what worked for me will work for you, but awhile back while going through one of my insomnia episodes, onthejourney (from the board here) gave me a bag of dried lavender and a tea (which I forget). Anyway, I took the lavender and put it in a cloth bag inside my pillow. Sure enough, it eventually worked (two nights maybe). Seeing as your looking for suggestions I figured I'd offer that up. Here's a bit about it. Lavender Can Help with Insomnia
  19. Sourdough thin crust. The rest is flexible. My favourite bread is sourdough and I have a two year old starter going (frozen currently) that I have used for making the crust and breads in the past. I don't make it very often though because I always forget to take the starter out and let it refresh overnight, so I end up wanting pizza and just end up ordering it. Which isn't very often. I've never seen anyone offer a sourdough crust, outside of a few resturants I've seen.
  20. I re-read it now and understand it. For some reason, I just thought it was on per entry basis. Thats where I obviously missed the boat.
  21. Well, you sorta lost me on the arguing comment. I certianly didn't think you were. Less caffiene perhaps. As for the topic, I read into it differently then you, thats all. I read more into what caused this to go down. To me, underage musicians are taking the friendly fire, so to speak, in all this. They weren't the reason for the change, but they get screwed by it.
  22. Surprisingly, I don't watch Oprah. Then again, I don't watch alot of TV aside from some video games or music DVDs so I guess I could easily miss all the hoopla going on about this. I'm only talking about bars though, I guess if the law covers resturants also, seeing as they are also "licensed establishments", then I can agree it seems excessive.
  23. What outrage are you speaking of? I see parents not being happy over the province proposing to allow kids as young as twelve to be able work in the kitchens of bars, not kids playing music in bars. Like I said in my other post I can't imagine what parent (aside from a bar owner) would think that its a good idea for a 12 or 13 year old to work in a bar.
