fishbone is one of the best live acts ever.. i've seen them 3 times, and every time i left htinking it was the best show ever. hopefully catch em again.

brockville is a good place to get accustomed to padding, and stuff strapped to your limbs.

i've never been impressed with logic, but i've only seen him with mmw. and i find he just makes them sound less crisp. i find it's just a lot of 'wicka wicka wicka wicka WACK'.. and some overused samples. But i've heard project logic is amazing, have yet to hear it though..

They are a 12 piece afrobeat orchestra in the spirit of Fela/Femi Kuti, with the funk soul of James Brown. bass, guitar, drums, keys, a bunch of percussionists, horn section.. lots of em. They build on very simple grooves, but keep adding textures. making it HUGE sounding, and making sure everybody is dancing.

They are sort of political, but in a good way, reminding people to think for themselves and be open, question governments whenever they can, and not be afraid to dance (in a nutshell). It's a pretty uplifting show, and i remember at the Tulip fest there were hippies, jazzers, oldtimers, nature boys and girls, and kids all dancing and whoooping it up together.. i was dead sober too.. sign of a great show.

I cant believe it!! I hadn't thought of this band for months until this morning when i posted how much i loved their tulip fest show.. this is going to be awesome.. a friday at barrymores seeing a GOOD band!?! Seems to good to be true!

Ive had several dreams where I've been on a ride.. like one of those obnoxious exhibition rides that go in a circle with bad metal playing. and then go backwards. except its always really high.. then it releases me and i have a great view of the fair as i soar, until i plummet to the ground. usually into shrubbery.. how about that symbolism.
