I think they're wicked fun too.. they are definitley a band that feeds off a rockin rowdy room, and the last few times Ottawa have not been too rockin- hopefully they try us on a weekend sometime. I do really miss the additional flavour of (Darren?)the percussionist, who I guess doesnt tour with them anymore. But when they get intense, it doesnt matter too much.

awesome show!! The Bus rocked us properly. I enjoyed all the new tunes and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better- It's great how the tunes that were the 'new ones' feel like old favourites now... The serpentectomy interlude in Streetsleeper was great- I thought it was "he gets down with a certain intensity" either way, awesome. I really liked the Fussy Part too..

Anyone catching them? Looking forward to the Montreal show!!

Tragic! Luckily no one was hurt, but the whole building came down last night. Just saw Frederik on the news- he's got insurance, but hes bummed, and it might be a while before they rebuilt. I was just thinking of a greasy goat roti the other day.

Bob was deadly at the Blacksheep on Friday.. great set.

yeah- that was worth every penny. It's awesome to behold that kind of musicianship and I think the whole bar agreed- I've never heard Zaphods so quiet and respectful. amazing shit.

Anybody thinking of checking this out? Seems like some super heavy avante-guard jazz. Apparently it's a live improv show, but there is a compositional aspect to it. Two sets of it at Zaphods should make for an interesting setting...The sample on his site it a little sqwonky, but I'm intrigued.. Anyone know of Ken Vandermark? From Toronto? add to edit- it's 15.00, in advance. I notice it's also the same night at Golden Dogs and Lure- at Mavericks. Timing might work out to make that a fun double feature...

oh oh... how about: "free souvenirs!!" Not only is it a great idea, to imagine souvenirs allowed to live freely in this society.. but it could also be a lie that brings people to your shows, expecting gifts!

Thanks for such a great weekend guys! I had a wonderful time playing- and at any given moment was blown away by the fact that we've managed to surround ourselves with such warm, awesome people.. Magical to see you all having a great time- smiles are really contagious, as are throat colds.
