  1. This song is about as "angry" as Jack gets , but the lyrics say it all... Crying Shame Its such a tired game Will it ever stop How will this all play out Upside out of my mouth By now we should know How to communicate instead of coming to blows We're on a roll And there ain't no stopping us now We're burning under control Isn't it strange how We're all burning under the same sun By now we say its a war for peace Its the same old game But do we really want to play? We could close our eyes its still there We could say its us against them We can try but nobody wins Gravity has got a hold on us all We try to put it out But its a growing flame Using fear as fuel Burning down our name And it wont take too long Cause words are burning same And who we gonna blame now? And oh, Its such a crying shame By now Its starting to show A number of people are numbers who aint coming home I can close my eyes its still there Close my mind be alone Close my heart and not care But gravity has got a hold on us all Its a terrific price to pay But in the true sense of the word Are we using what we've learned? In the true sense of the word Are we losing what we were? Its such a tired game Will it ever stop? Is not for me to say And is it in our blood? Or is it just our fate? And how will this all play out Upside out of my mouth And who we gonna blame? On and on Its such a crying shame
  2. Actually, I have all his discs, his soundtracks and live stuff...he's a very talented singer/songwriter...not sure what you're commenting on but then again, you're from O-town
  3. Hey, I've been a solid supporter of JJ since Brushfire FT. This is a guy who is an amazing surfer, invited to Pipeline when he was 17, makes great surf flicks with the Malloys, putting on standout festivals for environmental awareness, scoring music for films and in his spare time built two amazing recording studios where he records music for his friends and himself...not a bad lifestyle at all...
  4. I know I've posted this before but a few years back Neil did a week's run of shows in NZ with Phil & Ed from Radiohead, Johnny Marr from The Smiths, Lisa Germano who has played with everyone, Eddie Vedder and many others...The DVD is called 7 Worlds Collide and is a fan, er, Finntastic concert to pick up.
  5. Ha!...a bunch of silly white people playing quirky music in the kingdom of reggae... Looks like it was a great festival!

    ONCE

Good music, great setting... IMHO, the DOP didn't help capture the movie with the constant camera moves and out-of-focus shots...overkill on, what I presume to be, the grittyness of the Dublin life.
  7. :susel: A safe and Happy New Year to All!!! :content:
  8. Hey pholks, Just a word to the wise if anyone is going to be hitting the Orbit Room tomorrow evening for the Sisters Annual Christmas Monday celebration... This is the last Monday of Sisters before the holidays and these nights are usually packed like sardines in a can so be sure to get there early if you want a table close to the stage... Snow is crazy huge here in Toronto with more to come throughout the rest of the day...it'll make for great festive atmosphere that is bound to add to tomorrow night's fun... Holiday Cheers Y'all!!!
  9. Hey, what can I say, I don't get out much
  10. Santana Shreds!!! OMG these are so funny and well done! Everyone from Santana to Clapton, EVH, and Steve Vai...just search the name and "shreds" at You Tube for some laughs!!!
  11. Great to hear all is well with you & your brother Tim! Now, no more com-pooper time until you're rested!
  12. I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill...and I'm sittin' here on Parliament Hill... Tory Anti-Drug Bill
  13. Yes, Phish put on spectacular shows but also had Chris Kuroda's light show that contributed to the experience, without question... Phish's Toronto show in 1999 didn't come close to kicking my ass...but the following summer...they KICKED the entire Moslon Amphitheatre into overdrive... Phish from the get go were solid entertainers delivering great music with stage personality...by the way Fishman described their first ROTC gig I'm sure that must've been highly entertaining... I miss GD and Phish shows...
  14. Nice pics Blane...thanks for the trip down memory lane as I worked in the Caribbean and had one of the best vacations of my life in Treasure Beach, Jamaica... What took you "down island" work-wise?
  15. Keep in mind that Feist is still a relatively young performer...some artists need time to develop their stage personality and performance while others are naturals... Norah Jones's 2005 DVD brings this to mind...incredible voice, incredible talent but she is the weakest "performer" on stage...again, she's a "young performer" and finding "her stage personality" I have seen JSB a few times over the years and nothing really has changed performance-wise... For anyone who caught Monday's Sisters show at the Orbit, all I can say is it was one of the best performances, shows and evenings I have witnessed in a very long time from any band...the room was packed like the "Christmas Runs" and they fuggin TORE IT UP!!!...from killer covers of Helpless & Southern Man to many new songs with "Frozen Land" with Kevin singing some great lyrics it is a birthday I will not soon forget...too bad Neil wasn't there to catch the fun
  16. After the first minute of Seinfeld's constant nasal whining I knew I was in for a long and brutal movie trip... IMO Bee Movie is THE WORST animation film by Dreamworks and any other studio to be released in years... It seems to me that Seinfeld being the self-appointed king of comedy felt that anyone could write, produce and provide an entertaining voice personality... WRONG!!!...think again Jerry... The only thing that helped ease the pain of the 91 minutes of agony was that I paid the low price of $4.00 at Rainbow...but even that was too much for this piece of crap... Just my opinion but if you're thinking about seeing this one, choose another and don't even bother renting when it hits the shelves...
  17. All my positive vibes for you Tim!
  18. Neil...still keepin' it Young! Happy Bday Old Man
  19. Nice to hear you made your way back home and I know the area well...hope you're kicking back and breathing in that great salt air!
  20. One of the most memorable encore performances was at a Blue Rodeo show when the boys and the lead singer from Change of Heart busted out "Don't Fear The Reaper"...it was simply amazing! One of the stories that was told to the audience that night was that during that tour many people asked if the front man from Change of Heart was Cuddy's son as they look alike and the joke was that he is older than Cuddy!
  21. I'd say the tax cuts are a desperate attempt to gain popularity by a minority government that hasn't accomplished squat since they've been in power... Unfortunately there's not a great alternative when Canadians go back to the polls... How about forming our own party (political!)...Jambands.ca Nation...or is that too close to Live Nation...
  22. I'll be at the P'bro show on the 30th!...a little "reward" See y'all there
