  1. EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS SINCE LAST SEASON!!! Why the hell they signed him to a five year contract is a mystery...he's played like a spoiled, winey prima-donna since last season when he had a brief run of luck with his "one-timers" which were quickly put to an end by the other teams... The last time I had such a hate on for a Loafs player was when Corson was on the team...
  2. HOLY SWEET FACK MY LOAFS ARE FREAKIN' KILLIN' ME!!!
  3. It would be well worth the extra $$$ if your external hard drive is FireWire or has both FW & USB especially if you're using it for audio/video applications. If you're using these external drives for backup then USB is more than fine but data transfer for heavier applications may lag if it's USB.
  4. Yep, so true paisley... The invasion of Iraq is so twisted...if you stop to think about what has happened since the US decided it was time to lay waste to that country under the disguise of "anti-terrorism" it's sickening... For starters, to the best of my knowledge, if one or more people in the US plot or conspire to kill the president, punishment includes the death sentence...not that I'm condoning Saddam's actions in Dujail but if, say, a group of 148 people got together in New York and planned to assinate the president then, if caught, they would face the death penalty...like the 148 people who tried to assasinate Saddam...that's just scratching the surface of a deep, twisted and gruesome war that should not be allowed to continue but lets face it, it's going to be bloody for quite sometime... Saddam was the excuse the US needed to get their filthy hands on the oil fields...sure, the world is "rid" of a very evil soul, but at what cost...I don't think we'll ever know...very sad...
  5. Yeah, the way the drums were recorded and engineered on "Shopping Trolley" is magnificent...the style in which Tim Barnes plays the drums on that track brings Zeppelin to mind in a hurry... Very cool to hear how she wanted to record "analog" for that CD and basically live off the floor...no wonder she hangs with the likes of Harper, Adams and other heavyweights of today!!! Rock On Beth!!!
  6. Great Holiday news to take in... Amazing how America has managed to "spin" this one...I was waiting for these Interviews/polls" to start happening and sure enough I finally heard one... The people/Americans being interviewed were asked about their thoughts on Saddam being put to death for crimes against humanity and his role in terrorism to which the majority replied that he should be punished for his role in 9/11... Seems that certain powers have succeeded in shifting focus on a failed mission in Afghanistan to shift blame on to another war which THEY began all in the name of oil... If anyone thinks that this is the reason that the US invaded Iraq 21 years after the fact they are sorely mistaken... I'm not jumping on "Saddam bandwagon" or anti-corporal punishment view but this war in Iraq is a crime on humanity in so many ways...since Bush pushed his way into Iraq how many innocent lives have been lost? My guess is a few more than 148 and let's not forget that this is really all in the US quest for oil and all the contracts that go with it... Nice way to finish off 2006
  7. Whoa...must...get...nasty...image...out...of...my...head...
  8. How old or "used" are your guitar/mic cables that you're using? If the shield has been compromised then this could be where your problem lies...other than it's trouble shooting...
  9. Again, thanks for all the suggestions and artist sugestions. My hope is to find someone who has material but hasn't had the opportunity to record and could use a break. So if you know of anyone who you think this would be a great opportunity for, point them to this post. It's up to them to get in touch if they're interested as it will give me an idea/indication of their seriousness and committment
  10. Different Beth but what a Diva!!! I cannot get enough of this girl!!! Rock My Gypsy Soul... And her video for "Conceived" in the style of Jim Henson and his Muppets...yep, feel good stuff fer shure... Conceived Oh, and for the record, I thought Beth was/is a true Diva before seeing/reading this...
  11. Yep, Canada Post screwed me/Esau as well as he had a nice autographed limited CD sent to him which he obviously didn't receive...lucky I know the "artist" so I can get another one signed and will send with insurance this time 'round... Sorry 'bout this Esau!!!
  12. Pro Tools has a free version but it wil not run on OS X or Windows XP...you have to be running an earlier version of Windows to operate their free version which is extremely scaled back. If you're downloading a crack version of Pro Tools there may be an issue if it doesn't detect the Pro Tools hardware as in it will not run. Pro Tools just recently introduced the Mbox Mini which is bundled with a crapload of additional software... Any more questions fire them my way...it's what I make my living with in many ways...
  13. I concur with brad. I recently picked up a MacBook and run my Pro Tools Mbox2 with it (USB) and did my first "live record" of the Sisters a couple of weeks ago with an external FireWire Lacie Drive and it ran without a hitch. You can pick up the MacBook at a sweet price and Digidesign has just released the Mbox Mini which comes bundled with craploads of software including drum loops, soft synths and so much more. Digi also owns M-Audio and they offer their M-Powered Pro Tools but with the release of the Mbox Mini, I would highly recommend going this route as no matter how you slice it, Digi will be around for a loooong time while others might disappear at any given time and POOF, there goes your support... Just my $0.02
  14. Well, point them towards this post if they're interested. I can give more details as to what they would have available to them... Thanks.
  15. Okay, so here's the deal... You - Focussed female musician who has original material written with more in the works but needs a "break" when it comes to studio expenses...if you have a band/ensemble great, if you're solo, fine as well...website in place to begin adding audio/video to... Me - Engineer with access to multiple studios equipped with the finest gear including Pro Tools HD Accel 3, Analog mastering if needed/wanted, massive collection of great mics, grand piano in one of the studios...blah blah blah... I'm looking for one person to help with their career but they must be serious as I'll be giving my time and devotion free of charge... Musically I've always had a huge place in my soul for female artists...some of my favs are Beth Orton, Dar Williams, Aimee Mann, Norah Jones, Tristan Prettyman, Ani DiFranco, Lisa Germano and the list goes on & on... So if you'd like to get some material recorded in the new year, fire off a PM and we'll take it from there... Happy Holidays!!! PS - If you love coffee, even better!!!
  16. Merry Ho-Ho!!! May the Fat Man in Red stuff your stockings with all things fun except coal!!!
  17. Ha!!! Yes, ever since I was five and said to my mum that we should have Shepherd's Pie and think about the Shepherds who saw the Christmas Star while tending their flocks we've had Shepherd's Pie on Christmas Eve...my legacy!
  18. ROTFLMFAO!!! I have no clue to any of the names in the line-up...yes, that's crazy fer shure!!!
  19. Ummm...let's see...oh yeah, this movie is based on A TOY!!! WTF were you expecting??? Get off the jeebus hippy-crack What is cool though, at least to me, is that new software created by a colleauge of mine from T-Dot is being used by the post-production team on this flick as well as Spiderman 3...he recently was at Skywalker Ranch installing his software for their SFX team and the stories he told me when he returned are un-fuggin-believable...
  20. ahhh...jambands...time well wasted!!! Congrats Dr.EM
  21. Hey bouche & Ollie...man, I miss you O-Town crew...hope to be back crowding you in your house soon!!!
  22. Well, for starters, throw on Billy Breathes, Farmhouse & Hoist and listen to any three of the four Crowded House CD's...I was referring to Phish's "poppier" offerings...dig a bit deeper there Halilton and you'll "hear" what I'm talking about... ...as for lyrics, again, I was referring to the very unique styles that quickly bring so much to the listener...there's alot below the surface of both lyricists...don't go grabbin' YEM for a comparison... Neil's Sophomore CD "One All" is another sharp and well-crafted CD. The DVD Seven World's Collide is a great live concert that has Neil playing with a couple of members from Radiohead as well as Johnny Marr from The Smiths, Lisa Germano, Eddie Vedder and a few other solid musicians including his son's band Betcha Dupa...
  23. Those who like it, like it a lot. Sorry, couldn't resist that one
  24. Just a head's up for those who were planning to go into Orbit over the holidays, unfortunately the Sisters won't be back in Orbit until January 8th...apparently the Orbit Room has been booked for a private party this Monday/tomorrow evening for which has traditionally been the Sisters X-Mas bash 10 years running...FACK!!! But good news is Kevin has just finished another CD with Cyro and a follow up CD with Harry Manx...
