  1. As a promoter, it's fantastic to have a site that already has a big audience. Jambands and Jamhub can exist on the same internet kids. We down here in the East aren't trying to stir pots, kick goats, punch donkeys, etc. All we are trying to accomplish is to strengthen the East Coast scene by providing a forum to do so. We toyed with the idea of creating a new board altogether, but why bother? The Jamhub name is very well known on the EAST COAST. For this reason, it's worth putting the effort in to make it happen. No disrespect to anybody on this project. Feel free to create an East Coast forum on Jambands.ca I say the more the merrier guys. But the fact remains...I need a forum dedicated primarily to the East Coast music scene. Jamhub is going to be that avenue. I'm in touch with the East Coast scene on a daily basis, and it only makes sense for a site that has seen a major influx in activity on the East Coast, to be run by, and based out of the East Coast. Graham has done a great job over the years, but like Toastmaster said..he just didn't have the time anymore to keep it going. So we discussed options, and a new product is going to hit the net soon. Keep promoting, supporting, making, buying, selling, taping, booking, watching, painting, enjoying, etc. I think it would be fantastic to have multiple boards dedicated to this community we have all helped form. I still find it funny that after putting it out there, not 1 person has bothered to email me... Cheers Kids. Backyard BBQ and Beer time!
  2. I understand the confusion...I said above that I would discuss it in private if you felt you really needed to know. So Bouche, if you want to shake that nagging feeling of not understanding, then contact me privately and I can fill you in on the deets in a matter of seconds. saintjohnbookings@gmail.com End the speculation and this madness and contact me.
  3. Whether Jamhub lives or dies... It really doesn't matter. In this world of free choice, people can choose to either frequent it, or not. Like I said guys, we have our own reasons for wanting to keep Jamhub alive. The lack of Ontario content and participation on the site speaks to me. What it says is that there is need for a maritime based hub within this community. Embrace change guys, don't be afraid of it. If anybody is truly wondering why we are doing and just can't live without an answer, contact me privately at saintjohnbookings@gmail.com and I can certainly go into detail. Business talk is best kept off public forums.
  4. We have our own reasons for wanting to revive Jamhub. Jambands is a great resource Bouche, but like others said...regional relevancy is important for message boards. Especially since Jamhub has thousands of members (most based out of the east coast) Once the site is back up, we plan on doing some marketing around it and reviving the board as best as possible. There is lots of room for the board on that big old crazy internet contraption.
  5. We are going to be capping the Elwoods shows at 200 people so that the comfort level is a little bit better. It could use some work in there, but right now it's the only place available for the things we want to do in the uptown area.
  6. Elwoods is still there and still doing shows. Although, the place has a poor layout and is a little too small for the shows we want to do. We have our eyes on a couple of other spots in the uptown area as well. All hope isn't lost yet!
  7. Check out www.leftyproductions.ca or look up the event on facebook. I've got some shows slated with THE BREW from Mass coming up in August as well. Moncton and Saint John are going to be getting them. Check em out at www.myspace.com/thebrew1 All details are on both sites. I've been in the woods out there all week in Hatfields Point doing soil testing for a geologist. We were in the middle of a trail about 6KM in the middle of the woods Sunday morning when we realized we had one bull moose, and one cow on either side of us. The female was making noises as if to draw the male to her. Not a cool scene to be in the middle of without a rifle. All we could do is slowly back out of the thicket. Fuck the woods!
  8. We have been working on venue development over the last few months. Hence the lack of shows. We were close to closing a deal to purchase a venue uptown, but it fell through for reasons having nothing to do with us. JAMHUB needs to be revived so that promoters and venues have a place to advertise shows, share music and photos, information, etc. Every step is important in developing a "scene." Jamhub is a very integral part of ours, and Im not about to let it fade away. Yes A khord is a nice place. We had offered them our services and they turned it down. So fuck it. They are apparently content with losing money, so I say let them continue on the path they are on. Wasted opportunity is a phrase that comes to mind. Peace from the East.
  9. Wow! I haven't posted on here in forever. Kind of forgot I had an account. The East Coast scene (especially Saint John) was doing fantastic when Nep-Tunes was open. I booked all the shows through there and was majority owner of the club as well. Although I was sad to see it go, It's just one of those things. JAMHUB is not dead. I have been speaking with Graham and it looks like I'm taking the site over, revamping it, and making this my main focus along with booking East Coast runs for touring bands across North America. So give it some time you crazy Jamhub refugees, and we will keep you posted of all the happenings. Cheers Kids! Jay McLean www.leftyproductions.ca
