What a wonderful weekend! Those Americans really like their fireworks! The diffraction glasses may have shorted out a cluster of my brain cells....the ones I use to drive. My highlights were Cornmeal, the hammock district, Korey wringing every last drop of fun outta his birthday, DSO ending with Brokedown Palace, cliff-jumping, Disco Pizza, and The Beard's gigglefest after a weekend of 60 beers for $40. Tara & Baj, we really missed you and were really looking forward to meeting Little Sunshine.

Tickets for the Starlight show go on sale on March 11 at 10am.

Caught most of their single set show at the very packed Casbah Lounge with Mr. Tonin and \/\/illy. Very solid rockin' show and their vocals just put it over the top! Too packed in the room to get the groove on but Mr. Tonin managed to 'roll down a couple windows'.

Both the band and the big fluffy kind of Sheepdogs are great!

Cool link! My parents had a poster store in the mid to late '60's. A few years ago I found a bunch of their old stock that had been stored in their basement since then. They were mostly the Family Dog Avalon Ballroom show posters, including that Strongman poster above and the 'Pyramid Eye' from the link. The red Quicksilver Messenger Service poster on their website is hanging in my living room along with a couple other exceptionally psychedelic posters! Sadly, no Dead stuff.

Are you fuckin serious? First I've heard of that. Brutal. Unfortunately, it's true. The Beard says it's the first time in 20 years that it's happened to him. A crappy way to end the night for him as gigs and CD sales are basically his only income. I guess someone was doing some free Christmas shopping.

Great show and lots of happily altered energy..... But curses to the person that stole all the band's CDs. Schwa, your newly sharpened tooth is a good look for ya.
