The Captain America is not a remake. The original version that appeared on Dither had DJ Logic doing turntables. I agree with MOE. having the best studio albums, especially at the point where they started using live bass and drums as their bed tracks so as to capture the live MOE. feel. To each there own though I suppose

They only re recorded the earlier tracks. They found the sound quality from the Fatboy, Headseed, No Doy era differed too much from the Wormwood, Conch stuff. Seat Of My Pants had not made an appearence on a studio album so it was added as a nice little bonus.

They went into studio and re recorded A lot of their old classic tunes that have changed so much over the years so that the sound quality would match their newer stuff. Right on thanks a lot. I can't wait to get off work to download this. The second night was billed as slip and friends and had all special guests from other bands that had played. Nero Dave joined them as well as Jeff Heisholt from BNB. There were others as well. Night 2 did end with them playing Stand By Me which brought the whole festival to a standstill. Cool stuff.

I use to have a SBD recording of both nights of the slip at evolve 2 but the PC it was on crashed a few years ago. I'm aware that it is probably a long shot that someone would still have it but figured if anyone would it would be you guys. Would love to hear this again if anyone happens to have it.

When explaining the album on the band's official website, moe. member Chuck Garvey wrote the following: "OK, here's the deal. Recently, we were going out to do a short group of shows. Early on, Rob (who is a complete Christmasaholic) came up with the idea to record a Holiday album. We had just finished with mixing and mastering a studio album that was set to be released in about five months, yet here we were talking about making ANOTHER recording that had to be ready in one-fifth the time. So all sudden-like, we were in backstage rooms across the midwest, listening to Christmas albums IN SEPTEMBER to "get in the mood". (It's not even HALLOWEEN yet!!!) We adopted a commando style of learning songs, arranging and recording live during our sound checks - sometimes three songs a day! This was definitely a fun thing to do, yet also a little surreal considering the fact that I refuse to let go of summer at this time. This recording exists primarily because Rob IS "Robbie Christmas" and he infected us all with his "sickness" early in the year!"
