  1. Hey, my second post doesn't make as much sense anymore now that the previous poster removed theirs... it was a response to someone who asked if there would be GD cover bands at the festival. They were lamenting a lack of GD bands in Southern Ontario and I responded saying that I thought there was actually a lot going on, at least in Toronto. I guess they chose to remove their post. Caution Jam has played the ghost town so many times, so they do get around. It will be fun to check out some other bands I haven't heard yet. Anyway, thanks for your response, Berman. I hope to make it out, so I will say hi if I see you.
  2. Gee, I was thinking about how glad I am that people are still carrying the torch. The Burt's Cat's Dead show last weekend was great, and grateful Sundays at Gate 403 are enjoyable every first Sunday of the month. Then there's the Mark T band playing Garcia band covers, Mars Hotel, Caution Jam, all in Toronto. Maybe they're not getting out of the GTA enough to meet your needs, but the city has got lots going on. I live in Peterborough and we don't have a lot in the way of Grateful Dead bands here anymore, we just play the tunes at home, in jams and around the campfire. The singer/keyboardist from Zuffalo plays GDead tunes with Burt's Cat and Grateful Sundays... do they do GDead in their band?
  3. Check out this thorough comparison. It's not just one instance: http://www.jambands.com/news/2017/06/14/bob-dylan-accused-of-plagiarizing-portions-of-nobel-prize-lecture
  4. Hi Berman, Any sense of the current lineup? There seem to be different ones on facebook and evensi, songkick, etc.. One doesn't feature your band. Merci!

  6. Hey BrownAcid, Is this Mike? It's Kirsten in Ptbo. Nice to hear your album. Brent's quite pleased with it. Have fun at the Love-In!

    RIP - David Bowie

There is a tour already underway called Holy Holy featuring former Bowie collaborators such as TONY VISCONTI, WOODY WOODMANSY, GLEN GREGORY, JAMES STEVENSON,TERRY EDWARDS, BERNICE SCOTT, PAUL CUDDERFORD, JESSICA MORGAN and special guests playing the album The Man who Sold the World + more. They're playing a sold-out show tonight at the Opera House in Toronto but have added another date tomorrow night. I'm going to check it out. It's the best way I can think of to make that catalogue come alive and it just happened to be nearby. http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/2016/01/11/david-bowie-tribute-concert-in-toronto-will-go-on.html
  8. Thanks Brad! I noticed you there by the soundboard, was wondering if you got a patch or were going for an aud recording. I was at the back dancing with the guys with canes and crutches.. they were a lot of fun. Sound was definitely the best back where you were, and I could see well. I agree that it was more toward the space funk than last time. Thanks for taping this. We got there about 1/2hour in due to terrible road conditions from Peterborough. A good recording of a good show. Much appreciated.
  9. Yeah, it would be great if he came back here. Last I remember was at Kingswood in the early '90s. I love ArtPark but a Monday night is not really do-able for me, either. Next time!
  10. That was a fun show and helped get a fix of Phish between tours. Good turnout. Heard Divided Sky, Timber, Tela, Light, Back on the Train, Tweezer, FEFY, bunch of other stuff. The band was pretty good! The drummer seemed to be the weakest link.. reminds me that Fishman's style of playing all the little notes, 16ths, 32nds, isn't by accident. But definitely enjoyable and the crowd had a good time. I had a blast. But Lee's is such a dive. I swear, they hadn't cleaned it since I last was there in the early '90s, and it was nasty back then. Beer bottles and broken glass everywhere. Only other comment was that the LED lights were too bright for me. Will def bring my shades to the next gig. Thanks Lizards!
  11. Hi folks, I am new to Jambands.ca and wanted to pop in to say that I support this thread. Although I have stayed at the other Lee's for Phish shows before, this will be my first experience with a Canadian Phish cover band at Lee's Palace. Looking forward to what the Lizards have prepared. Hopefully their namesake! Coming in from the P-dot, otherwise known as Ptbo, or, in long-form, Peterborough, ON. See you there! Kirsten
