    Phish tour!

I'm betting there will be no more than 2 new originals this tour, and neither of them will be played more than twice.
  2. We're playing our first full length show on the 14th at the RCHA Club. it's free! https://www.facebook.com/events/330540323683125/
  3. Tyrion suspects that the Kingsguard that tries to kill him was under orders from Cersei. The Hound's brother (The Mountain, Gregor Clegane) got mad over a toy when they were young, and held his face to the fire. That's partially why he hates knights, and completely why he hates fire. One more episode left!
  4. This week's episode was far and above the best yet. Watched it twice in a row. Plus, http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/29/game-of-throne-season-3-cast/
  5. Bollocks ... can't remember the youtube code. here's what I mean -
  6. Minor thread hijack here ... but do you guys remember the Sue Turner Band? Same time period, also did a fair amount of Dead covers ...

  8. Graet post, thanks! Videos like this make me wanna smack people who bitch about crowd singalongs in concerts
  9. Yep. It's always interesting to see what the non-POV characters are doing, at least from the writer's perspective. I like how they've dealt with Arya. Renly & Stannis I'm finding a bit frustrating, particularly as they just randomly met in the middle of a field with no context. But yeah, Tyrion is the highlight of the show for sure.
  10. I think Ros (the red-head prostitute) works ... she gave Theon's character a chance to develop beyond being a "ward" while in Winterfell, they showed her with Grand Maester Pycelle, which was a great scene, now we get more perspective on Littlefinger through her. I suspect she'll be the one to help reveal some of these secondary characters throughout the series. I wasn't sure at first how I felt about Stannis and Melisandre having sex, since he is known to be only "dutiful" in bed with his wife, but I think I know exactly how it's going to tie in to the next couple of episodes. I think it's an assumption on the part of the producers that GRRM wasn't quite explicit about. For those who have read the book ...
  11. They seem to have taken a few extra liberties with the plot so far ... I'm thinking Stannis in particular ... but so far it's quite enjoyable. I'm re-reading the second book right now so it's all quite fresh for me. I also think Stannis and Davos were cast backwards.
  12. So we're a 4 piece now (2 guitars, mando, bass). Here's our set from Saturday night, our second show and first show without drums. http://soundcloud.com/friendsofthedevil-1/friends-of-the-devil-03-31 Deep Elem Blues Dire Wolf Friend of the Devil Dark Hollow Franklin's Tower Black Peter I Know You Rider Big Boss Man We Bid You Good Night
  13. I should mention that we're not doing the traditional tribute band set up, where each member assumes the role and original band member. We have on drummer, who shares lead vocals, and we have mandolin instead of keyboards.
  14. So, I've got a new band called, wait for it, Friends of the Devil, and it's a, wait for it, Grateful Dead tribute band - all acoustic. We're playing our first show this Sunday night here in Kingston at the RCHA Club. It'd be rad to see the few Kingstonians on this board at the show, apart from the ones I've already invited personally.
  15. From ZZYZX's facebook ... "Due to a glitch on Phish's website and a bored PT'er, a bunch of summer dates have leaked by people who figured out the pattern. Fuck yeah.
  16. The voice of Admiral Ackbar and Bib Fortuna
  17. haha great shot of Spence. There's lot of people concerned that we're dishonouring history or the military or both by taking away a block of a street, but a former CFB Kingston base commander came forward and said "The Hip have done a lot to support the military ... we don't see this as a negative" A lot of debate surrounding it, but the Hip have done nothing but great things for this city. Every concert they do here is a charity event (which also makes it easy for them to not have to guestlist half the city) and they've raised a lot of money for a lot of causes. I think it's pretty great.
  18. Why worry about banning smoking when they still allow lawn chairs?
  19. Allmans + Mule. Further + Hornsby + Mickey Hart + Trigger Happy. Fuckin' hippies.
  20. Enemy Squad - http://www.myspace.com/espfunk
  21. Deep Banana Blackout! Maceo Parker If you want to tag any of these into Kingston while they're here, we should talk
  22. I read the book just before I watched the TV show. What amazes me is the HBO was getting a ton of credit for being so bold with Ned Stark, like it was their decision.
  23. i have watched this a lot. one year is LONG time to wait.
