  1. The difference between the vos and aged is the wear on the guitar to match the original, and the played and signed factor. Funny the $15,000.00 one sold before the less expensive version. But the future value I'm sure impacts that factor.
  2. There were three runs. 1st, gibson usa, assembly line 600 pieces $2700.00 selling price. Second custom shop versions... 300 pieces VOS (vintage original spec is the term) which I have one of for $6100.00 and then the aged, played and signed version for $15000.00 which I had but is sold. you can check it all out on my website: www.lauzonmusic.com
  3. that's brilliant. thanks.
  4. sounds like the perth news. they run stories about runing ride programs and not laying any charges... exciting!
  5. no more so than computers have completely replaced traditional gear. I would love to be able to ditch about 150lbs of equipment but it just hasn't happened yet. I've been running a laptop with ableton live 8 at home in hopes of ditching the rack of despair but doesn't seem to be in the cards. I can usually deal with problems with hardware and traditional gear. blue screen of death in live performance isn't cool or something I'm wiling to go through on stage. That all being said, there's lots of cool stuff happening in software. Just let me know when you guys are ready to sell off your bucket brigade analog delays, and tape echos. you won't need those old things with that awesome software model.
  6. on a somewhat related note, check this out. Gibson recreation of Jeff Beck's 1954 Oxblood Les Paul. #22 of 50 played and signed by Jeff Beck more here
  7. So glad I made that trip. In my opinion there really isn't anyone who has had a bigger impact on modern music making than Les Paul.
  8. Its $15,000.00 and I have no idea what he played on it. I'm guessing some blues rock riffiage, or maybe the oxycontin blues.
  9. Thought I'd share this here because I know there are many a Slash fan on this board. Just got this Appetite for Destruction Les Paul replica. Its a replica of Slash's Appetite era Les Paul. 100 made by Gibson, this is #79. Signed and played my the man himself. more here
  10. Perhaps a little breakfast date with your pals Jason Collet,Chris Murphy, Matt Murphy, Gentleman Reg, and Champagne James would buy you an infinite amount of "tiny little wannabe hipster douchebag" cred. enough put the penny incident behind you anyways.
  11. yes, that was the only time I saw him. would love to see the blade/lanois combo live, but I may just wait for trixie to pass
  12. awesome. You can very much hear Lanois on every album he produces. I'm really looking forward to hearing that collaboration.
  13. Yeah, except for that run with "mother superior" which was still great. That's the only config I've seen live. i'd love to see this band live minus trixie.
  14. There's no artist I like more than Daniel Lanois. I always love everything he does, but gotta say.. trixie is awful. in the kinda 7th cut american idle kinda way. ouch. no personality and bottled soul. I'd love to see that exact band without her.
  15. I think that model looks pretty decent. $450 is about what you should be paying for it. Offer him $400.
  16. I bet you could get this for $450: Fender Jerry Donahue Tele. Late 90s crafted in Japan. Upgraded pick ups with Duncan Alnico II Pro in the bridge and a hot 50s in the neck. Upgraded with Grover Klusson tuners. Upgraded electronics.Red with maple neck. Great sounding Telecaster. $550 teletune@hotmail.com
  17. I think you can do way better for your money. I think this guitar is overpriced by about $200 Hold out, keep looking. There are lots of gems out there. I thought you were looking for a tele?
  18. yeah no kidding. I just got the gig last night I don't imagine you need tickets in advance. Sorry I'm thin on details. I just know I'm playing at 9:45
  19. Hey, Just found out that I will be playing at the Tulip Festival at Majors Hill park in Ottawa on Friday May 21st at 9:45pm Hope to see some of you there!
  20. no. If you played it and really liked it, its probably worth more like $300.00 If you want a steal of a tele, check out buying an older G&L. I have no agenda with those because I don't even sell them anymore. The G&L guitars from the early to mid nineties are incredible guitars and are criminally undervalued on the second hand market. With our dollar close to par, check out what you could get more a little more money: http://cgi.ebay.com/1994-G-L-ASAT-Classic-USA-Blond-Good-Shape-/200467614929?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar&hash=item2eaccd0cd1 these are made in the original Fender factory. I can't recommend the guitars they are making right now, but wow they had some great ones. And, as is typical of the guitar consuming public, no one gives a shit unless it says Gibson or Fender on it.
  21. fuck. exposed... my lame cloning attempt at keeping a version of punk in ontario.... experiment gone horribly wrong... this version is always looking to "clear his junk" lets hope this one doesn't show at the nero shows
  22. Finally, a shot of the most appropriate use of Jim Morrison lyrics: vomit bib.
