  1. yeh dave dude thats me after hanging out with you for the weekend:)

latest weather report says only a 30% chance of rain - (good news!) we have lots of indoor party space if it turns ugly but i'm thinking at this point its all gonna work out.

I picked up a 2000 sq.ft. tarp cause I was in TSC and I couldnt resist getting the biggest one. this thing is friggin huge!! i'm PSYCHED!

    More Details:

As most of you have probably heard, the recent Chatham Schoolhouse Party was a huge sucess and alot of fun. Unfortunately, our host Keri (who was good enough to put the whole thing together) ended up loosing out on the night due to some thievery. Stolen from him was a camera and a minidisc recording unit.

Well this upcoming Saturday May the 28th we have a chance to set things right.

Diesel Dog is going to be throwing a little "fun-raiser" party at my place. We are going to pass a hat around and hopefully come up with enough money to replace the minidisc player. There is no set amount of money you need to bring, just chip in what you think you can afford.

Everybody who was at the Chatham party and who didn't steal anything is welcome to come on down to Simcoe and get down with Diesel Dog. (any other good folk who didnt make it to Chatham but should have been there are welcome too!)

My place isnt exactly a farm but it has a really-really BIG backyard with plenty of room for camping, so bring your tents. The band is gonna play after supper, so feel free to come down early...

(Watch for fliers at CTMF, seeya all there)

  3. there will be tickets at the door for sure, its a pretty big room, as for directions:

-come south on highway 24 right through simcoe.

-once you get south of town drive for about 6 mins until you go through a stop light

-keep going about 4 mins futher south on hwy 24 (you'll pass hwy #6 east to Port Dover)keep going

-the second road on your right, past that stop light, turn right to vittoria, I believe there is a small sign(?)

-once your in the village take your first right down to the community center - its pretty easy to find the community center, vittoria is pretty small

-if you go to mapquest and search for simcoe, then scroll south, you can see vittoria.

    its gonna be fun night:)

  4. Diesel Dog is playing a party at the Vittoria Community Center this saturday night.

The party is open to everybody and should be a good one, we have 130 tickets sold so far (max capacity is 250ish)

Tickets are $10 and that includes food.

Vittoria is about 10 mins south of Simcoe, just west of Hwy#24. The community Center is pretty easy to find once your there (its a very small town)

There are places to crash for out of towners, this should be a great night - hope to see some of you out...

  5. thats awesome news, a brand new more portable rhodes with Midi that feels and sounds like a real rhodes?! i want one.

dave-o: I sometimes use an ultragain pro tube preamp before i put my signal into my twin reverb; i get a warmer louder sound... but I find for most rooms the twin is sufficient volume wise. your definately going to need a fairly powerful amp with a rhodes - they dont have near the output of a 'regular' electric piano or synth.

  6. life would be really really boring with if there were no girls.

shows are really boring when there are no girls. they feel like rehersals.

my girl makes me feel like a rock star and i'm not even close to being one.

    i love girls, especially mine...

so i agree, bring on the ladies

  7. from diesel dog to you crazy ottawa f*ckers, we had a freekishly wicked evening...

after reading and hearing so many good things about 40 Main, it was awesome to experience the festivities first hand - it was really great meeting, drinking and dancing with all you kind folks till the sun came up...thank you all for a real good time!

  8. couldn't it also be argued that some intentions and principals that the founding fathers had, to this day contribute to America's continued participation in imperialism, expansionism and economic slavery?

the founding fathers were not just philosophers and democratic visionaries, they were also military men and slave owners - a big reason for the creation of the republic was to protect the interests of private landowners, and the slave system which the american economy relied on big time in the late 1700's...

  9. i'm a big beatles fan, and I agree if he can only have two more they would have to be:

    1)Let it Be

    2)Rubber Soul

i wouldnt go for a compilation cause its nice to listen through a whole album as it was intended to be heard, especially a beatles album.

by the way, you should get a couple for his wife too, sounds like she could use some education!

  10. thanks baby - toronto was a blast, wicked thai food, sweet hotel room, good music at the bar, givn'r till dawn at some after hours club, back to the hotel for an early morning hot tub, brain shutdown somewhere around noon, finally got to bed sunday night...OUCH i really do feel older this morning:)
